i just purchased and installed an aladdin xt mod chip but the place i bought it from says i have a cromwell bios and the aid manual says not to use it with a cromwell bios is there anyway to use the aid with a cromwell bios or can you point me somewhere to get the m8 bios flash for my aladdin xt?

If you just head here: http://www.aidtracker.com/ and download AID 4.30 and read the guide on how to add all your add ons and bios files you can use it to flash the chip.

I'm sure that your chip can handle the X2 5035 bios, which is much better than the M8 bios. I would flash the X2 onto it if I was you. _________________

hey... i think my aladdin xt is only 256k bios sst 49lf020a... if so then the x2 5035 flash won't work here is an image of my modchip...i use the pin header and have this hooked up to a v1.0 xbox

i just used slayer's bios flash and flashed my aladdin xt chip to 4981.67 evx fc........4981.67 (multi)....so now all i have to do is put aid in....thanks for your help in advising me to flash bios...will put in aid and see how it works!

a little off subject but also my xbox dvd drive went bad so i left it's power plug in hooked up and i put a splitter on power connecter ran one end to hdd and the other end to lg 4040b dvd writer and hooked ribbon cable to hdd and lg 4040b....it works great for reading cdrom and dvd discs, it reads more disks than the thompson xbox drive and reads cd-r but the only downside is 1. won't play xbox original discs
2. if disc inserted while xbox is on it won't play it, you have to reboot the xbox to run from cd
i guess i will just have to go to my cousin's house to make back-ups but it seams to be a good solution to keep your modded xbox running if cd drive goes bad.....thanks and hope this is not news that you can't use!

a regular dvd drive won't read xbox game discs, becuase of the speical security sector that only the xbox dvd drive can decode, unless the dvd firmeware is hacked, it recongize that SS
