Alright so here's my problem and I hope someone can solve it.
About a year ago I successfully installed an X3CE chip, flashed it, and uploaded all the cool software that goes along with it. Just recently though, I booted up my Xbox and there was no video. The chip seemed to boot up fine. I mounted the front toggle switches and that broke off one day, but I had a spare one and put it on. Still no video....
Any suggestions would be awesome!

Welcome to the XBOX-HQ, we hope you enjoy this and all the other HQ sites we have to offer.
Did you try a new set of AV cables?

Maybes it's the A/V cables that happens often to my broken XboX lol.

It happens all the time since most guys just grab the cable and pull it instead of using the adapter end that even has a divot for your your thumb for comfort grip.

Yea it's not the A/V cables because I booted up my xbox without the chip enabled and I had full video and sound.

What BIOS did you have on it and did you try booting it with the power and eject at the same time?

The BIOS I used at the time was X3_3294. I haven't tried the power and eject bootup.

It sounds like he might have changed the video region. _________________

Do you still get sound? if you do then find pal to ntsc switcher and make an iso file out of it and burn it to dvd and boot it up and it should fix the problem...if that doesnt work try to reflash ur modchip...i dont have the latest version of AID but someone here does and they should post a step by step guide for the blind so to say _________________

All good ideas. I would definitely check to see if somehow you got switched to PAL, but I opt for a corrupt bios or possibly a problem with the chip itself.
The easiest thing I would imagine to do is just wipe the chip and reflash. IF no joy then look into the PAL/NTSC theory.
Good luck and keep everyone posted.

Hello to all! Sorry it's been a while since I posted anything back. Here's the update. I tried doing the power and eject combo which I'm pretty sure is supposed to boot up the 256K and allow me to reflash. However, still no picture. The only time I actually get picture and sound is when I hold the power button, thus booting up with the chip disabled.

Alright thanks for the suggestion. It just so happens I know someone with a working chip. What I want to know is, if I unplug their chip and plug it into my xbox, just to test if my chip really is fried, will that cause more problems?

As long as the chip uses the same pin header set up it should be fine.
