every thing went smooth except now, i can't ftp into my son's xbox. i haven't put the other hdd's in yet but the only difference between the three is the eeprom's. i've checked the system settings and all the ftp settings are fine. another thing, when i used to ftp into the xboxes i could hook up all the wires first then start it up, now i have to leave the ethernet cable unplugged or the ring won't go from green to orange.
i'm probably just over looking something, i'll keep trying, but any help (like always) would be grately appreciated.

well, all my games were too big to fit disc when i set up xboxhdm, so i copied everything but my games with the intention to put them on with flash later. now everything works with the new hdd except ftp, ieven tryed using smartftp nothing. funny tho , the connection just times out every time, if it said 'no connection to host' i could probably figure something out, but it just sits there connecting then times out.

evox. maybe some files didn't copy correctly like maybe drivers for the ethernet. isn't there someone (Slayer i think) that has the full MS file for download?

If the only thing not working is your FTP i would guess the problem is your network settings, are you set for static or DHCP?

ok, now i'm really confused. i just replaced my HDD which i used the same exact files for my son's and mine has all the functionality. i think i'll try to redo his hard drive with xboxhdm and see if it will fix it. i'll let you know whats up.

be careful not to switch the eeprom files, cuz the eeprom cross checks with the one porgrammed into the chip, if it doesn't match i think u'll get a error of 9 or 6 i think, something about not being able to lock the hard drive

i don't remember how to check/change the settings, from the softmod menu settings right?
oh, and i locked all the HDD's. i kept the eeproms seprate and labeled, before i ran make-iso-win, i would delete the eeprom, copy the next, and burn thier own disc. i checked the settings and it says his HDD is locked. i'll try wes's suggestion out, i didn't remember that mattered.

alright, so i finally got around to ftp'ing my brothers xbox and it did the same thing my son's did, if the ethernet cable is hooked up to the router before youturn it on it won't boot to the softmod and for some reason the only game i haven't been able to play ( from theHDD or actual disc) is Mortal Kombat Armageddon. so i've been goingthru both of them and realized what they have in common, my xbox is a 1.6 and thier's are 1.1s,so i'm thinking maybe when i copied my C:/ drive to thier's it didn't quite match like i hoped it would. maybe ya'll have heard of something like this before, 'cuz if thats the case now i have to re-open both, put thier HDDs back in, copy thier C:/ folders, blah, blah.
