Whats up guys? I've been runnin my softmodded xbox for about a month now, and it works great, but I got bored and decided to tear it out of the case and mod that too. Well, its all good except when I put it back together it wants to boot to the ms dash now. It always goes to that screen where you have to set the clock. Almost like a pc with a bad cmos battery. All my stuff is still there, because i can go in through splinter cell and the installer and run the dash that way, for some reason it just won't boot right. so what happened, does this thing have a battery in it or is this something else?

FORMAT FORMAT FORMAT!!
Works 90 percent of the time, everytime!!
But to be serious; I think you should remove your softmod and reinstall, sounds like it's not saving your settings, afaik there's no battery..
What mods are you doin to your case?

Hey yall thanks for the replies...this thing has me baffled....
I reinstalled the softmod...but the stupid xbox keeps booting to the factory dash and showing the screen where you have to set the clock...i'm not real familiar with how to format these things...i know my pcs real well, so i'm not afraid to try tho...if there's a tutorial on here i'm sure i can get it...
As far as case mods that I'm doing, I'm just kinda feeling it out...put a bunch of lights in the grill underneath the controller ports to start, probably gonna cut some holes, make it see thru into the dvd drive...I pretty much like the stock look, just wanna spice it up a bit...no paint or anything...this is my first one so i'm gonna do what i can handle...already did one controller but you know how it is, i have a zillion ideas haha...but tell me whats up with this thing

Stupid question are you dual booting and hitting the eject button to turn it on? The reason I ask is well out of frustration yesterday I hit it a few times and realized UH, wrong button.

Yeah i have the eeprom backed up on the pc...and no I'm not dual booting and hitting the wrong button its just odd to me that its booting to that clock reset screen...it will do that every single time...why the hell wouldn't it just boot to the regular dash and sit there like a regular xbox?

With the eeprom and xboxhdm you could try rebuilding the HDD and see if it helps, the clock will reset if the xbox goes to long with out power so it might be a bad power supplie but if your not having any other probs i would rebuild it.

I don't know what happened wes but now its working. I kept playing around with it and must've got something right, because its behaving pretty well now. Thats why i like this modding, its like controlled chaos, you never know what the hell is going to happen
