Hi,
I have AID 4.10 and installed dual boot, hacked dash/softmod, virtual C + EEPROM w/ Evox.
Boots closed to Evox dash
Boots open to blackscreen
I can get MS dash and softmod menu through Evox.
I installed UnleashX on F: just to see if "drive open" boots to F:, but still black screen.
How do I change what "drive open" boots to?
Softmod is SID 5

Softmods boot to the E drive for mod dash and C for MS dash.

But it shouldn't hang on a black screen with the drive open, it should boot the softmod menu.

Your best move is to unmount the virtual C drive and restore the xbox to stock then re-softmod it.
Thats what i wold do?
If you have not done it by now i wold back up the EEPROM .bin

I just restored it to stock today, because I couldn't get to MS dash or boot with network cable attached, cause I left auto - sign in enabled. I fixed that, hotswapped, put mhackxbox files on it, ran AID, made backups, formatted drives, unmounted virtual C, formatted C again, installed MS dash, and ran softmod dual-boot.
What directory does "open tray" look for .xbe in?

Since I seem to be the only one with this problem, it must be because I don't have a mem card to install SID from. I have to softmod by hotswapping and putting premodded files on C and E. I was hoping there was a .ini to edit, so I could fix what "open tray" boots to.

Your not the only one Mine is doing the same thing, dual boot virtual c + eeprom HD.
boots closed (Evox), booting open for the soft mod menu boots to a black screen. I tried a HD cable and a standard cable thinking it might be a resolution issue...but same thing, also tried multiple Xboxs.
I would also really like to know the locations where it looks for the .XBEs and it would be GREAT to have a second boot option if ever I tinker with my main dash...and instead of going through all the hassle of building the drive again i could just boot into SID , and FTP any fixes for the main dash.
So it really seems like it is just an issue with pointing it to the correct path? is there a way to make your own custom paths?
Also what is the best way to be rid of Evox and use XBMC for your main dash?
I didnt know so T just copied XBMC over to E:\apps\XBMC then I renamed evoxdash.xbe to Oldevoxdash.xbe
then I ftp'd over my default.xbe from XBMC and renamed it to Evoxdash.xbe and also included evoxdash.cfg that points it to E:\apps\XBMC
I figure there must be an easier way to get XBMC as a main dash....but I just did what I knew
Thanks everyone for such a great and easy way to Mod, i have always been an X3 modchip guy in the past and I must say i DONT MISS soldering! But I just need to figure out the insides and outs of softmodding so when I tinker i can fix it in a shorter amount of time.

You might want to try the new build of AID DJB just put out, i think he patched a prob with the duel boot option.

The aid tracker is the only way i get it, try reinstalling you bit client maybe.
