Okay so im running a modded xbox with a 250 gb harddrive. An AMD DuoX2 modchip and evoX as a miod launcher. I turn on my xbox and the modded screen loads up perfectly but then the hardrive clicks and makes a beeping sound then it goes to the error screen showing error number 07. I've checked the cable and there no knicks or cuts in it. Help please

Welcome to the HQ, we hope you enjoy this and the many other HQ sites.

If the HDD is clicking and making a bunch of noise then it most likely its burnt out. Sad

How old is the hard drive?

The evox and X2 bios should work on that chip but even with a bad bios you should be able to turn the chip off and get the MS dash.

If the HDD has gone bad then you wont get anything but errors left and right.

If you have the stock HDD for the xbox i wold put it in and see if it boots fine. Wink

my harddrive has a burnt resistor on it and it makes the click noise as well. U can put it in a ziplock bag and freeze it for a few days and it should work like new. It worked for me, but it may be a little sluggish, and slow responding.

Was it just "A" stock HDD or was it the stock HDD that went with that xbox?

Its not often you will ever see an error 9, i think it has something to do with HDD size and the debug SYS. Confused

If your getting a bunch of clicks and beeps then the HDD is bad or the xbox its self is going down hill.

If you put in a disk will it boot up with out an error?

Solid orange light, sounds like your chip is setting wrong or you switched banks.

I still think the HDD is dead or it wouldn't be clicking.

The hdd is dead. Ok what you need to do is tell us is the xbox is chipped or if its softmodded, because it sounds like your all over the place.

You keep saying the bios is on the hdd. The bios is stored on the chip not the hdd (if you have a chip). You should be able to plug the stock hdd with the chip on and it should work fine. You may also want to check to see if the jumper setting is right.

Okay i fixed the orange light problem now its just my harddrive.
And to answer the others guys question it is a hard mod amd duox2 chip and why im talking about the bios is because i put in a stopck harddrive and the mod would not run.

What im wondering is where would be the best place t o buy a hard drive im looking for a 250 gig or a hunder gig harddrive?
