I'm new to these forums and would just like to know if anyone knows anything about if you can put starcraft on an xbox. I have an xecuter chip with an avalaunch dashboard. I have a dos prompt available. Also is there a chance of putting Linux or an early version of Windows on the xbox. Thanks

Welcome to the site man Very Happy Yeah there really isn't anything out there to run too man computer games and I have never seen Star Craft or Diablo ported over, but if it was possible you would want to have a mouse hook up cause clicking and dragging would suck on the box. RTS work best for computers. If you wanted to play older style games you can use dos box but it is pretty laggy and yeah check out the linux os like wes said cause those are out there and pretty easy to find. I think there is a linux os on the AID disk as well....... Question not sure though

To get the best from Starcraft you really have to play it on the PC anyway mate. Its not a game designed for controllers and the like. Plus with Battle.net, Starcraft just opens up online, a feature that would be lacking when ran on an Xbox.

I'm a massive SC fan, with both SC and SC:BW and have always found this thing: when it comes to RTS and strategy games, stick with the PC, it does it much better.

You can play starcraft on your xbox using a n64 emulator and starcraft 64.

You can also put windows 98 on a xbox.

I think windows 98 is the only one that will run on an xbox. I don't think windows 95 works because the xbox doesn't have something that it needs and anything newer than 98 would tax the xbox too much I think.

Ok, lets be clear here people, the Xbox is not designed to run that sort of operating system and whether you upgrade to 64Mb of RAM or not, Windows XP will not run on the Xbox.

It is not a PC, it is a games console (an old one at that) and should be treated as such. Over the years people have been able to make exploits, apps etc for it, but underneath it all, its still the same, basic games console it always was.

Games designed for PC's running Windows should, in my opinion, be left there. A PC has more power than the Xbox, it has more power than the 360 or PS3.

Hope that helps clear things up for everyone Very Happy
