I have a 1.0 xbox, with an xecuter 3 chip, standard thomson dvd. Recently the drive has stopped working, however if I put the DVD remote I can still read and watch DVD's. Coming to this point I have reformatted the 120g hdd in the box, tried to use the AID disc, wont load though, cleared all cache drives, and read many forum posts to find a solution, but to no avail. Any ideas anyone?

Thanks for the welcome. I have tried burning the AID disc onto a DVD+RW and also onto a CD+RW. I will see f i can find me a lens cleaner and see what happens.

Thanks.

I would try a DVD -R.

And the best way to clean the lens would be to just pop open the DVD drive top and wipe the lens with a Q-tip and a single drop of rubbing alcohol. Wink

Tried again with the AID disc on the DVD+RW and it worked. But it's still having traumas when trying to get an xbox game to go.
