No bodies talking about this on 360-Hq so I ask this here, and just for the record don't go getting all uptight if you can't afford a 360 Xbox.

But have you even Googled how much a Blu-Ray Burner cost; I found Life's Good Manufacture for $199.99, I think you would have to price compare this device, it does sound good to have life like animation but I think we have to see the price on the Virtual thing Microsoft was talking about when we see this type of Console come out.

Can we just turn time backwards again and make a port for an external Blu-Ray CD/DVD player, or a BIOs support/upgrade from Microsoft to allow for an affordable way to have a 360 Console?

I am with you on this one Wes. Just like anything else technological examples being vcr's and cd players...remember when they first came out and they were like 1000 dollars? Blu-ray is the same way as far as if you are patient then the prices will eventually drop and the blu-ray discs will become cheaper. Until then I will satisfy myself with my regular definition dvd's. Very Happy

Don't forget that you can get HD content from xbox live and your cable or satellite tv. Who says you have to bite the poison apple of Sony's evil empire. jk

It has been said on 360-hq forums that possibly the real future of HD content is downloadable content. I am all for that now that Blueray is on top in the media format war.

The only thing bad about the downloadable content is have you seen the way they have it set up?You are really only renting the movie and not buying it.It expires after 24 hours after you hit play. Sad Also what happens if you download the movie and it glitches on you in the main part of the movie? Then what? You have to go through all the hassle of making someone at Microsoft believe that you had a problem with it. Downloadable content maybe the wave of the future but first they need to fix the bugs.

True, it is not perfect and there is plenty of room for improvement but that is because it is a newer way to provide content. I do feel, they should work out a way to download your content for keeps like they do for the TV shows but at maybe a higher price. Much the same way do can download Programs you buy. If they want to protect the content then they can keep it to the device used such as the xbox 360. Wouldn't it be cool if you bought a movie on xbox live and could aslo watch it on your PC. They can do all this and I bet in time it will happen.

Also, for the movie rentals on xbox live, I am pretty sure you can re-download the content if your time has not expired. I have I think. It still remembers where you left off too. Also I had one problem where I paid for a movie and it never finished downloading because I did not have enough room on my 20 GB drive. I came back 3 days later and deleted content so it would download. My time to use the movie was based on when the download completed not from when I paid for it. So you see they are working on ways to make it smooth and not screw you.

Still I want to be able to own them as well. That would make me happy Very Happy

Hopefully they see us here talking about things we would like to see and listen.

Good points WES about the kids.

I didn't know you can't play live games with out being on live, that's a bummer. Most live games support a single player mode so I agree you should not have to be on live if you don't want to.

Anyway it is interesting to see how the HD media path is panning out. I still do not understand the what , neo_knight_037, means in your first post. Can you explain a little more? Sorry I am not being a jerk. I am curious to know more. Thanks! Very Happy

I took the first part as blu-ray is to expensive and the second pat i think he was referring to a V.R. unit in a news post a week or 2 back, and what do we need to build to get a form of 360 out that you don't need 5 paychecks and a bank loan to buy.

Just my take on it. Confused

Ok I get it now, thanks. I'm not sure the answer to that, he he. At least there are still HD options if you have a 360 and or Cable TV. If Microsoft came out with an Blueray, then and only then would I consider Blueray as I bet Microsoft would sell it cheaper, but I don't know. Question

My apologies Gentlemen when you guy are asleep I am awake something about the Government trying to prove the American Standard are what brings Justis or something not only that have been trying to tune and Overclock my PC, I do enjoy this philosophy about the afford ability from a Device and the Program or Software and like how can it be Cheaper to got to the Store for food than running out to the local McDonald's for food. you just don't win, like your download situation for instance do you guys buy your clothes from the Home Shopping Network to J.K., anyway I appreciate this \/ \/ \/ quote.

I mean what the hell I do believe and correct me if I am wrong but wasn't Xbox Live created for or around the time when Halo was the big thing to enjoy that went out as hard as it came in, and what happens now do we allow are kids to plug in to pacify his or her self.

I see something maybe very little know but a senerio where some kid is playing on Live because he or she does or is not allowed enjoy to play with others who cannot afford or there friends live to far from each other, I what parent wants to drive there kid to there friends house, thats probably five dollars of gas or five dollars of Video Games?

Anyway I know in California Jobs are at an all time low, Gas is expensive and there are more Houses then there are people that can afford to live in them and these are brand new houses? go figure, once again in the Technological age they managed to due away with the social interaction and have found away to sit at home and play god with them selves and there families while the politicians enjoy this leverage we have provided our selves.

Here you guys, I found a Device and Software for the PC, it allows you the ability to connect you Cable or High Def to watch T.V. from your PC and also to be able to record shows like Tivo does, not only that there was a High Def which allows you to use your PDA Phone to watch T.V. from any where in the world, I can't remember what it was called but hat is interesting, and something else I found with today and CNN on helping us with War and the Presidential Election and or to save your favorite T.V. Program the ability to expand your storage capacity and save more than Music, Video Games/Video-Pictures and Software but now be also able to set up PC to save Television. what I am trying to get at is when do we really have time to watch T.V. and why is it not being recognized as being harmful as a Video Game, like we literally stop what we are doing just to wait while the local News has the or a Highlight of the day that you just cannot wait to see when the announced it at the beginning of the Program and threw the hole half an hour you sat and watch in anticipation for a five seconded story that was not what you imagined how or why it happened anyway.

There are some Technological Gadgets that can help to take the burden off of us during our daily routine that we are just to afraid to to take a hold of........................

whell as a new member of the dark side i feel M$ is dropping the ball on the bd thing yes there an arm and a leg now but that will change and for me dlc is not an option cus i don't want to rent something i want a disc in hand besides i love my behind the scenes content and all the goodies you get with the movies besides that as we all know as games advance you need more space to hold the content and with some ps3 games being 20gb and more it will not fit to a dvd9 and i doubt that you want that much room taken out of your hdd so the bd is a grate answer and as far as games with the 360 you can get a 8.5 gb game for 60 or with ps3 you can get a 50 gb game (MGS 4) for dare i say 60 and if mgs 4 was to come to 360 it would ether be cut to heck or be on 6 disc and thus cost more then 60

Dear bud_toker_13,

I think it is about reaching Rural parts of this Country and not just this Country but others as well and the Competing to make sure anything Video or Data ie. Movies, Music, Games reaches everybody or to be available for everyone, and far as far as Microsoft it just is not Affordable to incorporate a Blu-Ray Cd/Dvd player into the Game Consoles just at the moment. They make things look really good but those type of players are still just to darn EXPENSIVE! Google Search>Blu-Ray>price?
