I want to begin saying thanks to the people who put together this auto-installer, as it makes things a lot simpler for newbies like me.

With that said, I am a newbie with xbox stuff. I got myself a used modchipped xbox a while back and I finally have a bit of time to play around with it.

What I want to do is slap a new 500gb hdd into it and set it up with xbmc. it will only be used for xbmc so I'm guessing I want to use that as my dashboard.

So what I have done so far is put in the new drive. Didn't unlock the old one, not sure if i need to do that or not. Flashed the bios to evox m8 1.6 and booted up AID 4.13. Starting the first time, it formatted the drive, but only using ~127gb. When I got into AID, I chose Format Large drive, but that doesn't seem to be doing much as the dashboard is still reporting only ~127gb.

C: ~500Mb
E: ~4.8Gb
F: ~123Gb
G: 0Gb

When I try the mod-chip one-click install, I get an error and then saying it is successful and I should shutdown/restart.

Any idea what I might be doing wrong.
This with a xbox v1.4, philips drive, AID burnt on verbatim dvd+r
mod-chip xecuter2

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the xbox-HQ we hope you enjoy the site.

You can use xbox partitioner to set the extra space to the F and G drive, If one of the 2 drives go over 250 GB make sure to use 32K clusters.

Thanks for the quick reply.

When I try to run xpartitioner from the advanced tools section,
I get an error saying

Unable to launch "D:\Apps\XBpartitioner\default.xe"
File does not exist

And when I try to install AID to F:, it doesn't seem to be doing anything. The progress bar never goes beyond 0%

Sounds like a bad burn of aid man, did you update the aid 4.10 iso with 4.13 like the guide said to and did you burn just the iso file to disk, no zip files or any of that?

I thought that if I was able to boot with it, it would have been fine.

Thanks for the help, I'll try this again next weekend when I get myself some dvd-r blanks. Hopefully I will have better luck with dvd-r instead of the dvd+r I'm using.

Just wanted to say thanks.
Swapping to using dvd-r fixed the problem for me.

Now if only I knew fatx didn't support unicode before I went out and bought that 500gb hdd.

Don't worry man it will all work out. You will have that 500gb hard drive running in your xbox in no time. I have really enjoyed my seagate 500gb drive that I put in my modded xbox. I have all my games on it and a bunch of movies! It rocks! Very Happy
