Hey bro you can do what I did and put the fan on top of the xbox where the jewel goes like picture shows. I cut out the jewel area leaving a hole and then put the fan on top and you can eithier have it blowing in air or sucking it out! Eithier way keeps this bad boy nice and cool! Plus no soldering just do the 12 volt mod with a power supply splitter that you can get at any local computer store. If you have anymore questions just feel free to ask!

By the way this xbox might be for sale at the right price. It is only cosmetically modded and not modchipped or softmodded just painted and the fan. The hunter green color goes great with the original xbox black. Serious offers only and if you want to know the version that means I will have to take it apart and you better be serious about buying!! It was manufactured 1-15-2001 if that helps! I really don't want to open it if I don't have to since I am lazy and this is my only day off for the next week! LMFAO! _________________

the fan on the top makes no difference, because the dvd drive and the hdd is in the way (its only cooling the metal on the top of them both) so its useless, and its better to put one on the bottom because it cools the important parts of the hdd. _________________ My Xboxes >>> http://uk.youtube.com/profile?user=XBMCXBOX <<<

The problem is there is no room under the trays to put a fan man.

He said he did not want them on the out side darth but I'm with you man, mine are on the left side but if he moves them to the right side it wold cool the PSU and the hdd, and you can drill a butt load of holes in the bottom of the HDD tray for more air flow.

I know he said on the inside but hes not going to get a fan inside of there lol. I guess hes either got to put one on the outside or not have a fan at all. _________________

Your HDD really puts out that much heat that you need a fan?

well this is the thing wes, remember that I had 2 previous hd's die on me and they were both brand new and now this new replacement hd started acting up and I couldn’t be just coincidence that a 3rd hd is gonna die so im thinking is cause of the heat.

I guess man but lots of guys on here run huge HDDs in a stock case xbox, so it don't seem like it can be the prob with all of your HDDs.
