What would be the purpose in having one of usb to controller dongle adapters, besides for using a usb memory stick and keyboard? I can't think of a situation where I would want to use my keyboard for a game. Possibly for browsing the net on my XBOX, but I just use my laptop. I also see that you can use a usb stick for memory, but I have memory card for that.
So does anyone know of any other useful thigs these could be for? I have an opportunity to get some, but don't know if they are actually needed for anything. _________________

No you dont need them but thay are nice if you want to type in the name of a folder fast or edit your file manager info, as you said online serching is better with the mouse and keyboard.
The memm sticks give you more space then a memm card.
But you dont need them and you dont need to buy them you can just make some for your xbox.

That's what I figured, but they were only $4. That's worth the trouble not having to rewire the normal ports. Don't you agree? I'm with you, I think I can do without. I was just curous. Seemed like a good deal and thought they might come in handy. _________________

I think I would use it to port over game saves if I was having trouble lol.

No koots thay are not worth it in the long run to me.
And you dont need to hack up a controller if you got some old female usb ports laying around you can solder them to your controller input from the inside and use it as a controller port or usb port.
And you can use the memm card trick and turn your memm card in to a usb port.

thats what i did. I have a bunch of stuff lying around so i made an usb-xbox adapter, real easy. Plus i host halo & halo 2 tourney's and when i need a saved game variant i can jus use the memory card and swap xbox's. Its not that bad to solder if you get a usb with wires on it then you just set the wire tip on the solder thats on the controller port and heat it till it sticks.
