i was just running through my head what a the latest wii hack means for the console. Look at the xbox vs a softmodded/hard modded xbox, u can do so much more with it, network straming, emulations, xlink kai, run nearly any movie file, write ur own programs for, also the psp homebrew scene is amazing, the amount u can do with a little psp, control ur pc, change ur playlist on ur xbmc xbox, control ur tv via infrared, wireless gaming. Now imagine the wii in its present state. Two built in usb ports, built in wireless, sd card reader, bluetooth as well!!!! do u see the implications?????????on ur sd card u have ur booter and software, just sitting in the wii, with ur wii remote u turn it on, or with ur bluetooth mobile phone u turn it on, then when it boots up, a flick of the wrist and ur connected to ur wireless, samba share network. U dont see anything there u wanna watch listen, so u go back to the channel screen and select the usb hard drive channel, u pick some tunes, use ur wifi to connection to bring up ur desktop on screen, u think to urself hey i wanna go on msn, so u goto to the msn channel, plug in ur usb camera and clip on ur bluetooth head set, or connect ur usb keyboard and chat to some friends!!! its all possible i reckon watch my chops, the wii will probably be the next biggest homebrew thingy!

even tho its lower spec then then the current gen, i know that the technology in the wii is all RIGHT they've built a pretty good machine, great input idea, its lacking in games and the wii motes uses is laudible at times, but when homebrew developers get their hands into it its gonna take off biiiiig style i think this might actually kill the wii ala dreamcast even tho ninty still make money on units which is practically unheard of a new launch console

lol, yea same here, plus the wii has a diff. build from the xbox, the xbox uses the windows kernel which is much easier to build apps for.

i love my wii, but i just got my ps3 2 days ago so my wii is on the back burner 4 awile and the psp will lets just say i got 2 of them in the same month and got both hacked and working great ,with help from the good folks over at psp-hq _________________

screw a wii, the xbox has proved it has far more power. I know it hasnt been completely modded yet, but in all honesty, the 360 will probably be able to perform actions better than the wii and even the original xbox.
i cant wait for the day one of u hackers out tehre hacks the whole 360 system to utilize its power for other things other than gaming

I am with you man let's mod the sh!7 out of the wii. The huge lack of games right now is the perfect time to have people geared towards getting linux set up and all new interfaces. I agree that the wii is a hack treasure waiting to be unlocked and like I said, the lack of games will give people motaviation to do it. the wii is crap grphics no good and it really doesnt have that first person free roaming feel like halo, halo 2 or any other game. U cant explore ur game in the wii.

I love the hell out of my Wii. I will be the first to admit that it lacks games, but it makes up for it with the good ones it has. I'm a firm believer in not knocking something until you try it. Twilight Princess, is by far the best Zelda game ever made. You can go anywere you can see. That's good for me as far as free roaming. The Wiimote allows different variations of moves to be performed with your sword, as well as your shield. Wii Play is actually quite realistic. It brought back Dunk Hunt in a 2007 form with real shooting and the pool game is very real. You make the cue do whatever you want. If you mess up, so does it; same as the bowling game on the Wii Sports. Tiger Woods '08 is also, by far the best Tiger game because of the realism. Again, you have to swing the club hard or soft with the right accuracy to dominate.
As far as the capabilities, come on guys, read what Bomernee has to say about it one more time. The Wii comes with all of that stuff stock. Of course with the right amount of money, determination, and know how, you can do anything to the regular XBOX and the 360, but not stock, for $250. NO, I repeat NO soldering, rewiring, case modding, etc. required. Nintendo is giving this stuff to us. Saying, "Here's all the stuff you need, built in, to make the ulimate HQ if you will, for your technological needs." _________________

I have to disagree that twilight princess is the best zelda game ever, ocarina of time was 5x better.
Id rather have a xbox for modding than a wii, thats just me though. _________________

No hard feelings Darth. Everyone has their own opinion. Did you beat Twilight Princess? I've played Ocarina so many times and it get's a bit boring to me at times and running back and forth all over the place kind of got on my nerves. Twilight was more of an epic journey to me. I could beat Ocarina in two days easy. Twilight was like a ginat puzzlu and It took me a hundred hours or so to finish at 100%.
What about the other games?
So you would rather pay for everything, rather than get it all stock and professionally built?
Don't get me wrong, I love my XBOX, but I do see the capabilities of the Wii. BTW, How's the ram upgrade coming Darth? _________________

I got about 2 dungeons from the end of twilight and got tired of the game.
As for the xbox ram upgrade, going ok, i broke one ram chip but i've almost got one of them off. Its going slow but its getting down. _________________
