XBMC also handles many picture formats with the options of panning/zooming and slideshows, with the use of CxImage. Supported formats are: BMP, JPEG, GIF, PNG, TIFF, MNG, ICO, PCX and Targa.

You might also be able to add other support by pulling your codec dll's out of the windows driver directory and dumping them under the codec dir of XBMC and add whatever you like. To date, with stock T3CH installs, I've been able to play everything from standard AVI to encrypted WMV, all they down to Real media and MP4's. It's insane. Not bad for a homebrew/hacker product.
maybe that's why bill gates stole it for the Xbox Media Extender and the Xbox 360.........

AngelosDracul, do you think its possible to pull the codecs of K-Lite Mega Codec and use it in xbmc. I have that on my pc and it has been able to play anything I have throwed at it. it will be nice to have that in xbmc
Where can I find the windows drivers dir. I can''t find it in the system dir?

Actually, I was wrong on the location of most of the codecs. After some poking around, they're under System32, and the KLite install path (C:\Program Files\K-Lite Codec Pack). thought I would resurrect this from the dead. I have AID 3.1 and using xbmc as my main player, but I can't get .flv format to play, so all I have to do is go into my k-lite directory and copy all the .ax and .dll files and put them into my codec folder, or is there more in the sys32 folder as well? Does AID4.1 with updates have these in it. Going to do another system this weekend.

Why not just convert the .FLV files to an .avi file and play it?

haven't had much luck with finding a good freeware convertor,always come out choppy and pixilated. The worst is my computer is vista so compatibility for programs comes into play. only one was moyen flv to avi but the trial ran out. So to save time and effort I'd like the codec's on the xbox, and eventually I will start have the box connected to the internet.
Any suggestions?

I run vista myself and found that Total Video Converter will convert most anything to anything.
Its not freeware but it is worth the money.
You get what you pay for and a good converter is priceless.
