My hardmod has work great for years. Recently, the dashboard stopped loading (XBMC). This happens every so often, so I deleted XBMC, and tried to reinstall using Auto Installer Deluxe. This has not helped. I can still boot with a disk, and can still FTP from a PC when I put the xbox in Xenium OS. Am I missing someting? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's just your xbmc that is messing up? If xbmc is messing up you eithier have one or two things. 1. Your xbmc file on your disc is screwed up or 2.Your hard drive is messing up. Try burning another copy of AID and then try reinstalling xbmc again. If that doesnt work then it sounds like your hard drive might have a corruption. I hope this helps! _________________

I see this is your first post here man and i wold like to say welcome to the HQ, we hope you enjoy this and the rest of the HQ sites.
Did you tell your chip to boot the xbmc defalt xbe on boot?
I have not used a Xenium chip but if its like the x-3 os you need to set it to the dash you want to boot on startup.

Thanks for the tips everyone. I played around with it a little more. I can put any small dashboard I like on the harddrive, Avalaunch, Evo X, ect. When I try to load a program like XBMC or any other application from the dashboard, it flashes like its loading, then pops back to the dash. I've reformated all of the drives, but still no luck. I can load it up with whatever, but XBOX not processing information. I'm guessing corruption like rebelcharm says.
Would putting the drive in a PC and totally blowing it away do any good? If that doesnt work, Ill just try to burn XBMC to a disk and use it as a network media port until I can get another HDD.

What size is the hard drive your useing?

Its a 120 GB Maxtor. Formatted for small C, 5 GB E and 110 F.

Just go here: http://217.118.215.116/ and download the new build, pull the xbmc folder out and ftp it to you apps folder.
That will let you load it as an app.

Ok, here is the update with this thing. I can load and boot any dashboard except XBMC up from AID, but I cant access any applications. I've been able to boot a dashboard from DVD, but still cannot load any programs. Also, I can not boot a game from disk. Anything I try to do just goes back into whatever dashboard I got loaded at the time. Any ideas to whether this is a HDD problem or other issue (EEPROM or MS Dashboard)?

Open your E/cache folder and delete anything you got in there.
If you have an x, y, and z folder clear them out too.

Yea, everything is clear. Its basically a clean install, all drives formatted.

ive found with some apps when they go wrong the game save also needs to be deleted, when my dvd2xbox crapped out on me i tried for months and i couldnt get it sorted, once i deleted the gamesave of it then reinstalled it worked sweet hope this helps!
try going to the game saves and deleting xbmc from there, im pretty sure this will help
