I finaly got my remote back from my buddy and I was wondering.... Is there any way for me to change one of the buttons so I can turn off the xbox with it? _________________

Not without the xir mod i dont think you can.

I use a RCA remote and all I do to shutdown is just prees the power button three times. You may need to get an RCA Universal remote that can be programed to the XBox. _________________

XIR? Not sure what that is. I'm using a standard xbox remote and I noticed the number buttons (3 and 6 I think) controlled the volume. So i figured there may be a way to program say the "0" button to bring up the shutdown menu. _________________

edit the keymap.xml....mine is set up so the up and down center buttons are volume....side center buttons skip ahead/back by 2 mins....display button in vids changes aspect, in skin switches to full screen visualization....#3 brings up shutdown menu....#0 is mute.....its really easy to customize if youre into editing xml....i could up my keymapping so you could give it a try if you want....personally i think its the best possible setup of xbox remote....and peoples boxes ive modded agree.... _________________
