Hey I know that it is not good to ask for things for free. But I have been having a hard time with my Xbox. I need slayers for the xbox really bad, but I need it burnt onto DVD because my Xbox wont read CD-RW (Thomson Drive). I just got an 80gb HDD in the mail that I have been waiting for about a week for it, and I need slayers to format it.

Firewire,
First of all I wouldn't recommend SlaYer's Installer as it's so ancient. My new XBOX-HQ EVOX AUTO-INSTALLER v1.3 FINAL has all the up-to-date dashboards and apps.
Next, if someone was to mail you a DVD of the installer it would help if we knew where you were from, please sign up as a normal member atleast (which doesn't cost a thing) and make a profile!!
Lastly, the only way I would send you a DVD copy free of charge (plus a bouns CD-R with the ISO) is if you joined up as a VIP Member. All us VIP's put a lot of work into this site (just like I put a lot of time into this installer) and basically the donations from VIP Membership help keep the site going with hosting costs. $10 USD for a year gives you access to all the new downloads for your Xbox (including PC applications that work alongside with it). Trust me it'll be the best $10 you've invested.
Have a think about it mate, I'm not having a go at you for asking for this stuff for free, just basically looking after the site's interests.
Cheers
DJB

Same goes from here. However, I am in the US so I could get you a DVD rather quickly. It's too big of a file for a email, however I would only share the file if you were a VIP member as that is what this site is all about. VIP's helping other VIP's. Sure we offer downloads for non VIP's but nothing that assists with hacked bios' or dashboards and roms.
What you have to understand is this sites cost is facilitated by VIP donations. None of us make any money sharing files. In the same regard, it shouldn't cost us to share a file either. That is why we donate to keep the server up. So that we can supply the files to the server and then the other VIP's including myself can download them when needed. Sure, I know it's only a few dollars to send someone a DVD, but to EXPECT just because you signed up for a free membership someone will be at your beckon call is a little presumptuous.
As a courtesy I would be more than happy to send any contributing VIP a disk from time to time. But, not to someone who just strolls across the site and rolls the dice. We are looking for people who will become part of this community and contribute as regular members, or VIP members. Not for people just looking for files.
Sorry nobody has stepped up to the plate to eat the cost of your disk. But, I wouldn't hold your breath.
Hope to see you posting in the VIP section soon!

It no about getting the file it is about getting the file on a media my xbox can read. I burnt it onto CD-rw(FujiFilm) and my bxo could not read it. AS far as contributing I have already tried to help someone else on this site with the front panel LED, I told him step by step how to do it.
I not just coming into this site just to get somethin then leave, thats not my style. I like the site and the people, better then some others I have been to.
Anyways Thanks,
Rob

It's pretty much going to be a trial and error type of thing. If you already mentioned what drive you have, forgive me for asking again. But, what DVD Drive do you have? Maybe someone who has the same drive as you can let you know what they use.

From memory you MIGHT be able to use a CD-RW, try that. I'm pretty sure I've used a CD-RW in a Thomson and it worked, I might be wrong though...
Also, I find it quite hard to believe that you don't know someone with a DVD Burner, from a quick-minute thought I can think of aobut 5 or 6 of my mates with them (and myself too ofcourse). If you do find someone to burn it, there's nothing special or fancy about it, just load the ISO into Nero or whatever and burn.

If it has read that media before it still should be able to, if you have a CD Lens cleaner or whatever try that.
I thought I was right about Thomson being able to play CD-RW

There's nothing to it, it burns like any other ISO. One small tip though, use a low speed for burning (like ie: 4x for a CD-RW).
