I am working on a project and i am looking for a chip that is programmable for the usb. i cant seem to be able to find one that i can get for fairly cheap or dont have to wait for it to come in the mail, and i was wondering if anybody knew of something i could take a chip off of such as a computer motherboard bios chip and reprogram it or an eeprom chip that i could reprogram or is preprogrammed for this use. I was also wondering if the bios from a PC motherboard is the same as an eeprom, i think it is but i could be wrong. Thanks Smile Smile

It is the 32 pin bios chip from PC motherboard, and i am wanting to make a usb device with it (microcontroller) something similar to this http://www.raphnet.net/electronique/snes_nes_usb/index_en.php#pcb but i will be most likely hopefully using one of the 2 chips i have

Im thinking the Winbond chip would be better to go with, it seems to be more similar to the chip they used..
