Seems like thay wold have made the in put to the chip hold the 3.3 volt power.

Yes a diffrent remote would be a start in the right direction I think. I don't think a sony remote is going to work with that bad boy. How old is the remote you are trying to use on that bad boy? Oh and by the way...I was looking at your pictures and have come to the intelligent conclusion that you have alot of wires in that bad boy!!! _________________

Re: X3IR and X3ce chip

The 3 wires should not be taped off but soldered or connected somehow to the motherboard power socket.
Please follow the instructions properly for your xbox version.__________________ Xecuter RoX My BoX

This seems as good of a place as any to post this.
Is there any real difference between the Xecuter3 IR Mod (serial) and the X3 IR *USB KIT* (USB)? Other than the obvious computer connection?
My reason for asking is I would like to add the iR capability to my XBMC but Divineo is out of stock of the USB unit.

Good cal on getting one of the ir mods, i cant live without it now.LOL
No man, both the same and if you want to keep it looking good dont mount the serial input to the xbox.
When you got it programmed right take it off and put it away.

EDIT** (See below)** Has anybody seen the thread/guide/post/whatever about controlling the xbox with a Logitech Harmony Remote? Over the last few weeks of researching while setting up the box I remember seeing something about it. Now that I have an iR receiver on order I can't find anything about it. No combo of search terms has returned what I think I remember seeing.
** OK after posting the above question I decided to try the XBMC WIki (Doh!) and there is something there that sounds like it will work. Has anybody had any success getting the XiR to work with a Harmony remote?
