Hello there, first post, I have an xbox that has been hard modded w/ an xecuter 3.0, and has an avalaunch dash on it. The hdd is the problem though, just ealier this month I installed a seagate 120 gig barracuda into the xbox and recently the hdd has been humming rather loudly compared to before. I think the hdd is on it's last legs, so I am in the process of buying a new 160 gig hdd this time through western digital. My question is I don't know how to ghost or copy all of the files over to the new hdd. I would like to have both hdd have the same files on them so that way when my original seagate goes caput I can just simply throw in the new one. Any help would be much appreciated.

Welcome to HQ man, have fun and check out all the sites and such.
For a one to one copy of your hdd i wold say to use the chimp set up to do it.
Chimp is ral ez and will give you the set up you need, heres the guide by Finel Cloud: http://www.xbox-hq.com/html/xbox-tutorials-260.html
The one part you will need is the Y molex and you can get that at any larg Pc chain.
Let me know if that helps and again welcome to the HQ.

I guess my last question is where do I find chimp, do I need to download it to a disk or do I need to ftp it from xbox to pc. I would rather copy chimp to a disk personally. And lastly, if I wanted to keep using my original hdd until it broke would I have to keep the original as the MASTER, and then after it broke switch the new hdd to MASTER? Thank you all for all of your help.

Chimp can be found on the Auto installer delux disc and you can download that with a bit client here http://www.aidtracker.com/
Now your best bet is to copy the hdd with chimp and then put the xbox back the way it was, when the hdd burns up then just remove the burnt up hdd and pop in the new one.

If you burn the auto installer deluxe iso to a dvd-r or cdrw and pop it in theres an option to put it on the hdd built in.
Pezzar there is the tut master so he may have a better one but ill link you to this one for now.

I just tried copying the aid delux from the site, but the size of the program only came out to a couple kilobytes. If someone could help me w/ a walkthrough on how to download this to a disk I would appreciate it.

So download and install bitcomet then use it to download aid, when you have aid 4.10 burn the aid iso file to a disc and you will be good to go man.

sorry wes, but I have another question to ask, I went to aid tracker.com as you requested, but while I was looking around there I was only seeing what looked like updates for someone who already had aid. I just wanted to make sure that aidtracker.com was the correct website to download aid after I download that bitclient. All of your help is much appreciated.

Y ou got the right spot man, you want i think the first one in the list.
Its 1gb aid 4.10, when you got the download unzip it and you will see a file named Auto installer deluxe 4.10 iso, Just burn that to a cdrw or a dvd-r and your good to get started man.
