I received my moded xbox as a gift earlier this year. Its softmodded and has a 300 gig hard drive in it. Well after about a year of netflix and decrypting and compressing movies I had a problem. I was using IP switch to transfer about 20 gigs worth of stuff to my xbox media center all at once and there was an error. Suddenly all my video files are gone and my xmc is making different sounds and I can't reset the xbox from the media center any more. I checked the memory and its still full and where it should be given the amount of files I had, but I can't find those video files anywhere. A year's worth a work just up and vanished and I'm freaking out! Can anyone help?

My F drive is about 250 gigs, but with all the movies and stuff its down to about 33 gigs, so once all the files went missing, its still 33 gigs. I checked the F drive and all other locations on the xbox using different programs like IP switch and xbox media center to see if they moved anywhere but no luck. Pretty much everything about the xbox is in perfect working condition, but all my files are missing and there are about 220 gigs unacounted for in there somewhere.

thats exactly what i would suggest.. Try and FTP into your box and find the files.. No doubt they are still there on your hdd and something is corrupted on your xbox. _________________ HQ Network:

Ok, I FTP'd and looked through all files available on the xbox and couldnt find them. My F drive is split up into 4 main files: Apps, Emulators, Games and Video. Each file folder has the appropriate amount of memory and files attached to them (150 MB for apps, 4 gigs for emulators, 20 gigs for the xbox games) but the Video folder is completley empty. When you open it up there is nothing, and when you right click to check properties the folder size is 0. However the F drive file itself is still filled up, so something is still in there, and I don't know how to get to it. The only program I've been using here is IP switch (which was also the program that caused all this). I've been hearing alot about Auto Installer Deluxe, will that program be my savior, or is there some other option I havent quite taken into account yet?

if your not worried about losing your data (videos etc) you could format the drive using auto installer deluxe.
Sounds to me like something fishy is going on.
Id search the drive which has no space left and look for large files with weird filenames.. The program you used could have cached files onto the hdd or something..

i know 250 is just under the mark but you think it might need to be reformated to 32k clusters, the 16k does corrupt right around there?

Well I used a couple different programs within my xbox to try and find the files but no luck. I would be happy to reformat my xbox but I need to find those files first, they represent about a years worth of work.

I looked through every file on every drive of the xbox, looking for anything that would be the same file size of my videos, couldnt find them, or anything close even with jibberish as a title.
