ok so the "!!" is a bit dramatic i know but i figured it would "make you click" lol
seriously though, ive been to a few major electornics chain stores and have been trying to locate "fujifilm brand DVD+Rs" since it appears my xbox can only read those.....( DVD-Rs dont work i tried ").
so, i remember vaguely that i bought my first 50 pack from radioshack.....i went in and low and behold they didnt have. then the next day i went into best buy to check out their media center....BURNED AGAIN! nothing there. lastly checked walmart (because i bought guitar hero III for the wii lol - side note its awesome!) and they didnt have them either.
my bf and i are about to go check out BJs whole sale club in a few moments to see if i can locate a spindle or 2 (buy 2 incase they "just stop selling them " for some odd reason.
if i cant find them there, where else should i look? i "googled" the brand and i could only find DVD-R's which is not good.
any help would be much appreciated!!! thanks guys!!!
i actually found them.....i went to BJs and they didnt have them only memorex in stock.
my bf suggested i try ebay of all places and found a 10 pack with shipping that came out to 8$ so i just bought those for now. that should suffice
until i need more and when i do, i know where to look
thanks i got it yay!

well at first, remember when you helped me burn AID and you told me what dvd's to buy and i tried memorex and TDK? well the memorex i opened and they didnt work so i returned the TDK ones thinking that since the memorex didnt work, the TDK ones wouldnt.
then i had like 4 or 5 fuji film +Rs lying around so i tried those and low and behold they worked.
maybe i should try more DVD+Rs not DVD-Rs? either way, id rather get an abundance of a DVD i know for sure will work than play a game of russian roulette with what DVD brand will work for my xbox
oh and to answer your question, its a thompson DVD drive which i heard was the most finiky of them all.
im waiting on my ebay shipment to come in the mail any day now i have like 10 games sitting on my computer HD waiting to be burned lol

yeah im not gunna mess around with things that are gunna end up being a "crap shoot" it was just annoying that i couldnt find those DVD+Rs in store, i had to order it online. it should be here shortly anyway since i ordered them on like sunday.......i believe its being shiped from IL so if not tomorrow then sometime next week i can burn those games.
some guy on here was selling an HDD and i honestly thought about buying it with the OT money i had but TBH id rather just burn the discs because i really dont have the pacients to FTP every time i want to put a game on my xbox. yes im highly impacient. the DVDs work just fine and dandy.
so yes, im gunna just stick with things that work and if that brand is what does it then thats the brand im gunna get!
right now im looking at 100 DVDs (memorex DVD-Rs) that i dont know what to do with since they dont work! doh! good thing they were cheap though (like for the spindle of 100 they were on sale for 25$) i just dont want a build up of DVDs that i wont ever use (i dont need to convert to DVD format when i download a movie because i have XBMC that plays AVIs lol yay!)

If you got the game on disc you just put it in the xbox and use xbox2dvd to put the game on the hdd, no ftp needed and its a good idea to burn all your games to disc anyway incase the hdd burns up.

true true- i had xbox2dvd from the AID disc....hmmm
i dont know its something to think about but in the mean time ill just be simple and stick to playing on my discs. besides right now all thats on my HDD now is emulators.
OH! side note because im lazy and dont want to make a new thread lol- how do i load a PS1 disc? meaning i burned a bin/cue file on DVD and i want to launch it on the PSX emulator. how do i do so??

Playing ps1 games from disc is going to run like a dumptruck with one gear, you need to put it in the cd image folder and it still wont run like it dose in the ps1.

ok so im better off FTPing it then youre saying? just that they take up alot of space thats why i thought disc would be better. then again the only reason i have the PSX emulator is for the DDRs (original and disney mix....hush my bf has a niece whos like 3 and loves disney so i got it for her lol but ok i play too stfu im a girl dont judge me lmfao) and tekken. no other reason since i beat the final fantasy games a long time ago and have no desire to play them again (except 7 w00t)
so yeah, ill just Ftp them i suppose.
ALSO!!! i had another retarded question (god my thread is so random) should i invest in a PSX to xbox adapter? only because playing PS games with an xbox controller is a friggen pain!!! is it worth it? not like its that expensive.....hmmm.
and one more thing (because i dont know when to shut up /stop typing) wheres a good place to get an insanely cheap xbox head set that isnt 360???? ebay is rather expensive unless im missing something and faithful dealextreme.com doesnt have original xbox equipment.
thanks again wes <3

Yeah your better of running from the hdd this will prove true with the fighting games for sure.
The best place to get a head set is at a game stop there cheap and no shipping.
If you really dont like the xbox controller i wold say yes get a controller converter it really helps with the ps roms and it gets the ps fanboys to shut the hell up and stop crying about "you win cuz i cant use this big controller".
Hope that helps jilly bean.

ok will do. currently i only have parappa the rapper on psx so another 3 games really shouldnt clog up too much space, and if it does, ill downsize in roms. i know theres a few i can withstand to lose.
ill check out my local gamestop sometime this week to see if they have the headsets. im sure they are cheap. im lookin for under the 10$ category since i just want it for karaoke revolution lol.
yeah i hear ya on the PSX controller, but heres the thing. when i play parapa the rapper and i hit the right key (which is really the trigger right key on the xbox controller in comparison) it speeds up the game and screws up the rythem. maybe its again, another "a button disaster" type scenario?? what is with me and controller settings?!?!?! lol
wes youre a life saver!!!
