Hi all, i'm new to xbox skills, and i have one xbox that have softmod on it, and mediacenter, i can play backups, but the problem is that i won't to change the HD, now the xbox have one 6GB HD, and i have one new IBM 123GB that is lockable by on XBOX web site that i found.
Now i have read a 100 tutorial, but i can't get one that fits my needs, i know that the original HD is lock, and is impossible to clone, is there some one that cold guive a good explanation on how to do this without brake my original HD.... Smile

Is there any way to install new software in a new HD that is not format?

Cheers,

Well first off I'm gonna warn you what you wanna do is farely dangerous if you don't know what you're doin. First thing you need to do is read this tutotial and see if you think you can handle this. www.xbox-hq.com/html/xbox-tutorials-185.html Then you need to get yourself a copy of xboxhdm1.9. To get all the files you need just FTP the entire C and E drive from your xbox into there respective folders in xboxhdm and get your eeprom from the xbox it should be where the tut says or in a folder in the e drive named shadowc, after that just do EXACTLY what the tutorial says.Be fore warned you can brick your new hard drive if you don't do it right and you'll just have a 120GB paperweight after that.

Dont let J scare you man... as long as you dont lock the hdd with the wrong eeprom, theres really not much danger to the drive. Just make sure you're putting the commands in exactly. Otherwise it wont work and you'll need to redo it. Thats the most frustrating thing about xboxhdm. You can get xboxhdm 1.9 in the downloads section.

ive never heard of using a HDLOCK.exe to lock your hard drive on Xboxhdm.

what you need to do is pick the 3rd menu on xboxhdm go in to pick lock hard drive. (you may need to generate a HD key first which should say requires eeprom) once you get to the locking menu you need to type 'lockhd -a' this will lock it automatically.

sorry if this isnt exact doing it off memory and just waking up -_-
