Hi,
My Xbox recently just came up with this error so I have been trying to find out how to fix it.
Basically, my xbox is not chipped and was working fine until this messgae suddely came up. From doing some research and reading some of the forum pages here I understand that its to do with the clock settings and the MSdash system. Apart from this I really have to admit that I don't know too much. It seems that there is a way of resetting the hdd through my Pc which I am comfortable doing from the tutorilas posted on You tube which follows the process through but here is the problem..... I don't have a backup disc for the Xbox so nothing to reset it with and all other posts on forums seem to be about modded xbox's.
can anyone tell me how i can get a opy of the backup disc, I have nero so burning a disk is not a problem its just I dont know what I need to burn or where i can get it.
Any help would be much apriciated

It needs to be modded to get all the back up info of of it as far as I know. _________________

Thanks guys, looked at the steps, its says that if you don't have ms dash backup then you need to dowbnload a copy where can i get a free copy. It seems that there are many different dashboards but not msdash?
As I said I am happy with the hands on practical side but have no idea when it comes down to software. I have just bought a new secondhand xbox but this is my project to try and get this one back working.
Do you think it would be almost as much hastle to mod it?
Ideas would be welcome? if I sent it to someone to mod would they be able to fix the problem? how much is this likely to cost?

You can pull ms dash off the aid disc and use it, as for what it wold cost for sending it out, that depends on what the modder wants to charge.

When you got it extract the iso and pull out the MS dash.

Man this is the HQ we want to help here and get to you as soon as we can.
You may not know it but here we dont flame you for asking and we try our best to get you back up and running.
Now that aid disc will take some time to download but trust me its worth it, DJB put a lot of work in that disc and it shows.
Your going to want to burn the aid iso file to disc (cdrw or dvd) cuz there is a lot off good apps tools and such on there for when you get your xbox running again.
Welcome to the hq, youll never need to post on any other forum again.

Yeah AID is the S**T but if you don't wanna take the time to DL it and you can get your hands on a modded box you can get the M$ dash off of it. It takes about 10 secs or so to FTP it to your PC compared to forever at least with dial up, it took me three days to get the lite version of AID. _________________

I dout he can get his hands on a modded xbox j hes asking about sending the box out to be fixed in the first half the post that tells me he dosent know any modders.
If he did know of anyone with a modded xbox i wold have told him the ez way to fix error 16 insted of the hot swap.

Do know a guy with a modded x box as that was how i first got into xbox but unfortuately he has moved away so your right i the fact that i can't get hold of another modded box.
I think by the looks of it most peopel are from the USA here so might be difficult to locate a modder.

Had a feeling there was no modded box around and i got to go get me some food but when i get back ill link you to the modders map so you can check your area.
