Ok heres the deal. Had my xbox turned on one day but was watching tv. turn over to AV to start playing some box and it had a message on the screen saying can not read from disk. so i turn it off and went to bed. a couple of days later tried turning it on.. no go!! It is chipped and has an 80gig maxtor drive in it. when i boot it with the chip on it freezes on the Xbox logo (green flubber) screen and stays there. If i boot with the chip off it loads the green xbox screen and then jumps to the service screen with an error 16. the microsoft below the logo doesn't come up before going to the services screen.
I have read alot of forums about this and tried doing the xboxhd thing but when i try that it says something like no xbox partition found. Or you hard drive isn't locked but locking is enabled. and doesn't do anything.
If anyone has anything else i could try that would be a great help..

Get AID and throw it in.If it doesn't read the disc try turning off the xbox with the disc in it and turning it back on.It should work.

Wellman need some help here, im going to guess that your softmod and that you dont have a disc back up of your hdd.
If this is the case you might want to get a chip since your xbox cant get past the need for the clock to be set.
If you do have a backup let me know.

Nah its hard modded with a Xecuter chip. any ideas what i can do? think i might need a new hard drive.....?? please help people i've looked every where. Will Aid disk work if it won't even boot up games on a disc?

You can try aid It will still boot that mast of the time but if it wont work see if you can still ftp into the xbox.

That wold be the best fix for a soft mod sik but he has a chip.
You can fix error 16 with aid most of the time on a chipped box by checking if the hdd is locked and makeing sure no ms dash files are gone or moved.
You getting in to the game a little more each day aint you sik.
Slow down man, the rules say i got to quit modding if you fix my xbox at some point.

ohhh...haha my bad man....im tryin! im doin research everyday and everything haha so basically hes messed with the dash files on his hard drive?? wes if i ever fix ur xbox i swear i will never post here again LMAO _________________

Hey guys thanks for trying to help me out. BUT It won't boot any disk i put in it. Ill try burning it again using a DVD-R, but im not holding my breath.i can't ftp either because it doesnt boot up.
any other ideas that i could try.. im thinking i need 2 get a new HDD. what do i need to create another harddrive If i cant use my xbox? just my eeprom and a copy of the defult MS dash? and xboxhd? i have a back up of my eeprom if that helps.
a new hard drive is my last resort...

Man it sounds like you might have got your bios out of wack, have you tryed to switch you chip to bank 2 and fire it up?

Yeah may chip is set up that when you just press it it boots up with the chip off (well meant to) to the Default xbox dash and when you hold it down it boots up with the chip On to evo X. I did change it to load XBMC about months ago. The problem i think seems to be with the hard drive. do you have much knowledge of xboxhd 1.9? coz when i try to reformat or restore the C: partition it does do anything just says that there is not Xbox partitions table found. and the drive is unlocked but locking is enable.
help me fix it.. haha please.
