so i accidentaly uninstalled my dashboard dont ask me how..It came back to ms dash. i have tryed to do a clean reinstall of ms dashboard using xboxhdm, all went fine,, i rebooted after the "all done" message in xboxhd full of hopes... it didnt work, this time i couldnt get past the microsoft logo screen, i though this would maybe be a lock/unlock problem so i tryed the command lockhd -a in xboxhdm and rebooted, now i have no dashboard at all, and to top that, now xboxhdm doesnt even recognize my hd after i choose any of the options
i am really clueless,, i have read about 1000 tutorials, my eyes cant take anymore.. can someone give me a detailed how-to reinstall my ms dashboard using xboxhdm ( i cant ftp and my xbox doesnt read my cd-rw's) oh and by the way im using a 80 gb western digital hd on my xbox

You cant download an eeprom and if you could it woldent work, it has got to be your eeprom on the hdd or the motherboard will reject the hdd.

unfortunately no , i havent succedded yet when trying to ftp to my xbox and my router so no i dont have any backup..
Let me reexplaiin my problem,, i've bought a xbox softmodded with evo as dashboard and 25 games on hd, ive clicked accidentaly on a .xbe files that updated my dashboard to the default M$ dash, i have tryed cleaning the hd of my xbox with hotpswapping method using the xboxhdm program burned on a cd, i 've choosed the first option,, something like " reinstall xbox hdd completely from scratch" everything went fine, but when i restarted the xbox, i couldnt make it more far than the microsoft logo. i also have tryed the unlockhd -a command in xboxhd and since then everytime i try to hotswap with xbohdm , xboxhdm does not find a linux partition or my xbox hard drive,, not sure.. and i can see " this machine is no xbox"
last time i have tryed i could play real games still.
sorry my bad english

Or get a chip to fix the xbox you have.
Sounds like you have bricked that xbox tight.
