I would like to use a one click install to give me XBMC as my dash, however it is not that simple. My situation is: Had a chip, it died, used back up of eeprom/hdd key to use xboxhdm to make my 300gig hdd bootable again. It installed Roach's softmod files, and (due to my poor workmanship) wiped everything else off of C, so I have no microsoft dash or anything.
I wanted to use AID's lovely sounding 1 click install, however I (foolishly) have the shadow C drive running. I would like to know EXACTLY what options to choose to remove this and replace it with AID's lovely full package. I read through the archives and it seems that I might need to use AID to remove my softmod and then install a new softmod while the disk is still loaded. This scares me very much! I don't have access to the hardware required to use xboxhdm again, so if I mess up I got no xbox no more. Please help! I'd love it if someone could tell me EXACTLY what to do get my machine fully souped up, and I will pray there's no power cut or anything when I install it.

Hi bongripz216, yeah, thats what I want to do - only I'm a little scared! I need to disable my shadow C first (which is stopping any re-softmodding for the moment), and I'm a real scaredy cat and am not sure exactly what options to choose. I live in Japan and watch all my TV shows from my lovely xbox, I can't live without it!

I would say just go for it, but I really dont know anything about the softmod you have installed or how you would make the switch. _________________

The shadow C drive prevents any change to the real C drive, which is why I need some further instructions, I also need to know if I can just over-write roachs (bare minimal) softmod installation. It'd be nice if I can. I can't go taking any risks though as if I mess it up I don't have access to the equipment to restore my machine to operability.

Thanks wes213, yes, xboxhdm could restore everything quite nicely, but sadly I don't have access to a PC right now, it took considerable wrangling just to get access the one time. I live in Japan where space is of a premium and everyone uses laptops.
I was hoping AID could come to my aid

I wish I could help, but I have no experience with this. I only use SID.... I've never really messed with shadow c drives or whatever. I can do some digging on the net and see what I can come up with though. _________________
