And I can download large files like games to a backup drive
But every time I try to upload one of the game files to the xbox the xbox freezes and locks up!

What ftp app are you useing?
and do you have limits set for your upload download rates?
With out limits set it will lock up when a bunch of small files transfer.
moves to fast i guess.

I'm using Cute FTP
I don't think I've set the limits, I'll give that a try.

I use flash fxp and when i use wireless to move alot of small files (lets say nintendo roms) it moves real fast then locks so i put a limit on it and it was fine.
Now i use a wire and found i can remove the limiter and it gose so fast i cant read it.

do you use a wireless connection?
Wireless connections cant handle large packet sizes, you normally have to re configure the router. Contact your router manufacturer if you have issues with FTP connection timeouts

Ive used internet explorer for years. Never had an issue with any size/amount of files. Never set any limits or what have you. Just open a browser window, type in your xbox's ip such as ( ftp://192.168.0.2) and you should see all of your folders. Just drag and drop until dooms day! Nothing to set or worry about with exception of user/password to log into xbox (which is generally set to xbox and xbox). You can find your sign on and password for xbox in the dash's settings. If you have an issue that the browser is storing the wrong sign on/password (usually because you mis-typed or entered wrong info), with browser window open and at correct ip address, just click top left of browser (file), then click (log in as) and enter correct info. _________________ XENIUM ICE 300GIG CUSTOM DVD

do you have a wireless connection? If so go to a command prompt and run the following
ping -l 65500 IPADDRESS (where IPADDRESS is the ip of the xbox)
post back the results

no i'm just pointing out that if you ping your wireless router over a wireless connection with a packet that size it will fail
