Posted: Mon Aug 27, 2007 6:11 am Post subject: UnleashX + VGA - Should I /How would I change dash?
I successfully modded using hot-swap + HDM/Ndure installer and a boot disk.
Then I used Chimp to clone my Hard-drive and move up to a bigger and badder 80gb hard drive.
Now things are getting just started.
I want to make a VGA adapter myself with my soldering kit and $20 Paypal money I have and spare component A/V pack. (I'm using the component because I consider it to be expendable versus the regular A/V cable which isn't)
The thing is, I've yet to read of a success story using 800x600 resolution + VGA cable on UnleashX dash, because I've heard the UnleashX dash has trouble switching resolutions on the fly. (Component cable problems are a nightmare with UnleashX, having to use the red component cable into the composite on your TV to change settings)
Has anyone used UnleashX + VGA self made? (Not X2VGA, I don't have the money for that and they don't even sell the original anymore, they only sell the new 360/Ps3 compatible one, X2VGA 2.0 or whatever)
If not, is there a way I can change my dash without having to fully format or hotswap again?
