I was trying to backup my eeprom and ended up clicking on 'REINSTALL UXE" on my softmodded UNLEASHX dashboard. it gave an error and instructed me to reboot, which i did and ended up with an error 13.
I tried restoring the MS dash by usinig Halo 2 live, but the system just reboots and goes to the Halo 2 startup screen. if i remove the disk, it boots to error 13.
I downloaded slayer's auto installer, but the manual clearly instructs not to run on softmodded boxes.
Elsewhere on the forums i found that AID is an option. i have not tried it yet.
Can someone please help me.
I dont know what exploit was used to mod my xbox, it was done by a friend,who is totally out of touch now.i dont know the version of UnleashX either.
I dont have Splinter cell,Mech Assault or 007 (i can get them if required)
No memory card either, and no desktop computer for HDswapping.
I got a laptop and a DVD burner. so any help without needing to buy new stuff is highly appreciated.
P.S: i have a backup of the E;\ drive (with the eeprom.bin) on my laptop, i screwed up the dashboard before i could get the C:\.

Error 13 is due to your dash booting correctly due to missing files or what ever.Just get Aid 3.0 put in it should boot.When it does it will give you the option of reinstalling your dash.

i burnt AID 4.10 on TDK CD-R and also on sony DVD+R on a sony DVD burner, b ut the CD/DVD wont load on my XBOX.
I'm not able to recover MS-Dash usimng HALO 2 or DOOM 3, the XBOX just retarts and doesn't restore the dash.
In this case what are my options other than getting a chip?

Well, that could mean that your xbox is not softmodded anymore, or that your xbox can not read that brand of CD/DVD. TDK DVD-R's work on my xbox, but that doesn't mean it will work for you. So try a different brand of DVD to get AID to boot. If you can't get AID to boot, and you can't hotswap, then your getting a chip. _________________

One thing you can try, is loading up the game you used to softmod with. If you can boot the game, and the gamesave is still on your hdd, you can just resoftmod your xbox. These errors usually happen when you move or delete dashboard files. A good rule of thumb with softmods is: Dont unlock your hdd, dont format your c partition, dont ever change rename or delete files on your C partition unless you absolutly know what t is and what it does, and allways leave the run linux gamesave on your hdd ncse you do screw something up. Follow those rules and you'll never have a problem.
If you are trying to back up your eeprom to use with xboxhdm 1.9 to upgrade your hdd, backup all your files you want to save, backup your c partition, run the softmod installer and install evox, use evox to backup your eeprom, and finaly backup your eeprom to your computer. Thatway, you keep your original dashboard and you can easily back up your eeprom.

Unfortunatly, you dont know what game was used, and since you have no working dash, the only thing you can really do is try all 3 games and hope one of the gamesaves is still on your hdd. _________________
