I thought i read somewhere that Crystal xboxes can have issues, i'm going to be picking up a used xbox on ebay and dont want to end up with one i cant softmod

ok if it is just the case that is different then that shouldnt be any issues because the case just keeps it organized and what kind of mod would you like to install[/u] _________________ xbox AID 4.10 80GB WD

hey JP45, you would happen to know which button combination i have to use to get back from game to mc360 dash?
I know somebody posted that Q, but cant seem to find post back.

marcosdjcm, as for the softmod isn't SID 5.01 best way to go...

START+BACK+LEFT TRIGGER+RIGHT TRIGGER to refresh to xbmc
and that will do it (SID) but i would go one click install just in case you dont know what is being installed _________________ xbox AID 4.10 80GB WD

I was just looking to install XBMC as the main dash and upgrade the HDD to a 500GB one. I want to get an xbox for use solely as a media player. I havent decided which installer to use but i thought it was just a case of using whatever to softmod, then changing xbmc to be the boot dash?

Well i'm only at the stage where i'm looking for an Xbox to buy and softmod. So i'm just wondering whether i'll have extra problems trying to softmod a Crystal xbox over a normal xbox?

the case doesnt matter man lol but if you know what you are doin then nothing to worry about but HQ and i is here to help if you got a problem ive done alot of mods lately (softmod only) so im still confused a little on the crysral xbox lol _________________ xbox AID 4.10 80GB WD

Are you sure the limited edition crystal xboxes dont have different firmware or anything? I heard about them having extra difficulty with usb memory stick (memory card replacement)

I've softmodded a load of Crystal Xbox's and there is absolutely no problem in doing so. 10 mins, thats all it takes to do using the gamesave exploit and I've never once encountered a problem.
Just remember that if you go to clone the HDD to a bigger one later on Crystal Xbox's, you will need to use XboxHDM, as Chimp does not work on that model.
