I made a .zip archive called "snes.zip" and I put it in a "ROMS" folder that was located inside a folder called "Files" and I made it into a RAR archive. When I used AID 4.0 to install the rom set it looked like everything went OK but when I start my dashboard and choose xSNES9x to play the rom set I made... it doesn't show any of the roms?

Figured out my mistake. I made the folder name "ROMS" instead of "Roms" I shouldn't have used uppercase letters for the whole word "ROMS" just the first letter "R", "Roms"

Do you have to have a dif rar for each emu or do you just put all of your roms in one folder? How do you add it to the ISO?

The manual for AID 4.0 lists nicely how to make a romset add-on. You put it at the end of the add-ons.
***What I mean Exactly***
Using the AID ISO updating program you select all files in the order they are listed in the manual. Make your romset rar archive file your last add-on. Then you just hit the "update iso" button at the bottom of the program and the program updates the iso file to include the add-ons.
There is an iso file when you download AID 4.0 but it is a basic iso file. In other words it doesn't have all the cool stuff automatically included so you can just add what you want to the iso file, you know? Pretty cool if you ask me because I choose to use the iso updater program to just add the romset rar archive to the basic AID 4.0 iso. This made the file small enough to burn onto a CD-RW disc. I only put one romset add-on to the basic iso at a time due to the naming and then I burnt the disc.
The romset.rar archive you make is named "Files.rar" and the Files folder contains a folder inside called "Roms" and inside "Roms" is where you put ONE type of rom but as many as you prefer. Make sure you don't make a rar archive out the roms themselves. The roms need to be zipped (you know, a zip archive). When you start AID 4.0 just go to the emulators section and choose which emulator you want to install roms to and once on the correct emulator press "A" to select it and AID 4.0 will take care of the rest.
I think it shows something when your xbox has roms files stored on it instead of just emulators stored on it. This part of AID 4.0 was a GREAT ADDITION!!
If you need more help than what I've just said check out the AID 4.0 manual. In the manual it tells you which roms each emulator plays. This is important because you might want to install the roms to two or maybe three different emulators. MAME roms and NES roms, for example, can be played on 2 different emulators. Personally I installed my roms to both emulators in case one emulator could run a game better than the other.
Make sure to name your rom zip file according to AID 4.0 manual. For example Sega Genesis roms need to be zipped in the name sg.zip Pay attention to upper and lower case letters or you wont be able to install the roms to your xbox------this is where I went wrong originally. I named the folders "files" and "roms" instead of "Files" and "Roms". I think thats about it, GOOD LUCK!!

OK I have MAME, NES, and N64 romsets, so then inside the Files\Roms folder, I put "mame.zip" "nes.zip" and "n64.zip" right? and inside each romset zip will be all the roms for that system unzipped correct? In otherwords no zip files of games inside the zip files.

Yes, you are correct about the romset file names but you are wrong about the files inside the "Roms" folder. They can be zipped

I have one question when zipping the roms do I select them all within my rom folder and zip them or do I zip the rom folder with all the roms in it?

You select all the roms WITHOUT A FOLDER. That's right no folder is needed. Make sure: you name the zip archive of the roms according to the AID v4.0 manual and make the archive a zip not a rar. Example sg.zip for sega genesis roms not sg.rar
