hello i was wondering if anyone could help.
how do u clean up ur Xbox hardrive completly ,llike when u got ur xbox brand new.
any help is wellcome

all u have to do is format all the partitions then install ms dashboard to c:\ _________________ Xbox v1.0/1.1/1.5/1.6a

So are u saying your putting in a new hdd, or did you just buy it, unmodded, and want to delete all of the stuff? _________________

If its stock, just delete all the gamesaves. Thats what I did to my second xbox before I modded it. _________________

There exists certain Discs out there for this purpose, but here's the hard way.
Download or hope you have a backup of your ms dash (C:\ drive).
Ftp to your xbox (look elsewhere for this tutorial)
Got to your X:\, Y:\ and Z:\ drives and wipeout all data in there,
do the same for E:\ and C:\.
Now FTP your ms dash files to C:\ make sure that it's where you see "xboxdash.xbe" and create the folder UDATA and TDATA in E:\ and your set. _________________ Xbox v1.1

these folders are automatically created when you boot the dash if they dont exist (as is the CACHE folder too)

i see so the only thing i have to do is erase everything in the gardrive and then just put my back ups back inside sounds simple and i did it already thx everybody for the help
and BTW is there anyone who can help me instal XBMC i tried so many times and failed that i dont know where to go i've been looking online for guides and all and i still cant put it right iono why ((
