it seems my dvd rom on my xbox is finally going out it either freezes or says the disk is dirty i was wondering if anyone knows were i can buy another one at.

Thare are a ton of links to good sites that sell dvd drives for your xbox on the HQ home page.
I wold start with divineo.com or you can google it for lots of replacement drives.

thanks for ther site its gonna be a while tho before i can afford the new rom 70 to 60 dollars american is pretty expensive but im gonna have to buy 1 sence ive cleaned mine 30 times and it does the exact same thing wont open all the time and locks up and makes an odd grinding noise.

either, its universal, will work on all xbox versions. its a pc drive modded for xbox. they no longer make the original xbox drives anymore. you can only get the lenses. _________________ Please post all PC Questions at PC-HQ.com

Yeah.... Basicly I installed softmodded my buddies new xbox for him, built him a new drive, copied all the apps and emulators from my xbox to his and ripped his entire xbox game collection on his hdd for free. Now, for alittle payback, I'm gonna switch his brand new samsung with my thompson. _________________

i tried cleaning it but it still was messed up so i got this special dvd that is supposed to clean the lense it has little brushes on it but the dvd totally screwed the lense up so i found a Samsung SDG-605 for 40 bucks. Its BS that a product thats ment to clean the lense scratched it.
