I have an xbox with a xecuter 2.6ce lite modchip with solderless adapter fitted. Think it has the X2 5035 bios on it. Sometimes when i switch it on it does the thing where it turns on and off 3 times and then the red or orange light shows (can't remember which). Sometimes if i take out the graphics cable and replug it in, it will switch on, other times it's all about luck. It doesn't happen all the time.

I used to have the chip in another xbox and that xbox did the same thing, now it is softmodded it works fine. Can't softmod the one with the chip as it has a coma console and needs the chip to work.

Could it be because the solderless adapter is not sitting right or is it a problem that you get with that chip/bios????

Me and solder don't go well. I was thinking about attempting it but then thought better of it. I'll just try to hammer it so the adapter and motherboard become one.

Finally got round to looking at it, works fine when i press down on it so i just made sure the screw was tight, seems ok now. Was going to use insulation tape to hold it down tight but there is no way of taping it down.

I had the same prob with the solderless for x2, seems to be unstable and never wants to set flat.

Thought about sticking something to the bottom of the dvd drive to press down on it, something like a block of rubber??? You would would have to be quite precise with the size of it though otherwise you might press to hard and break it.

That should work... you would think
