I'm running XBMC (the latest thc3) as dashboard... I've got the High Def AV pack (retail) hooked to a normal flatscreen Sony T.V. thru a Monster component cable.

When I leave the xbox (on, of course) idle for more than one minute red flickering stripes start appearing randomly, even if I boot a movie, a game or some song to see the Milkdrop presets.

The problem goes away if I restart the xbox and use it, but if I leave it idle again the red stripes from hell appear again...

...weird enough if that if I play a movie or a game or something before the minute of idleness this will never happen.

I have read somewhere that sometimes a mod does not communicate well with hd. Has your xbox just started doing this or has this been going on since you did the mod?

Try downloading an old build and if that puts an end to it just report the bug to T3CH and wait tell the next build.
You could allso try cutting off your screen saver just to see if it puts an end to it.
Good Luck. Confused

Is this your build? T3CH XBMC 2007-08-26 SVN rev10100
This is the new build and a key upgrade that might be your prob is fixed: corrupted screensavers due to the renderstate not being what they expected.
See if the red lines pop up around the time the screen saver is set to fire up.
