Hi All! I heard that XBC is awesome but unfortunately I have tried and tried and havent got it to find my xbox for some reason
Anyways...I was told this other site that is sooo much better than xbc(i was told). I havent tried it out yet but from what I see it supports A LOT more games than xbc does ranging from other platforms other than xbox. Like PS2 and gamecube.
I dont think that alot of people know about it as much as xbc. So it may not have that many people to play against. But if anyone has used this before let me know! And maybe we can spread the word if it is a good program.
I was told if you are having problems with xbc that this program will definately work for you. DUNNO THOUGH. Cant always believe what ya hear! But it looks pretty decent to me. I plan on tryin it out when I have time to. TRY IT AND LET ME KNOW! _________________ xbox

Looks like they have over 40,000 memberes registered. Im getting ready to try it for myself. Looks pretty legit.

Yeah, with as much as I contribute to this forum, starting my own, and contributing to the others, I had to eliminate some of the places that i contribute to. I end up spending quite a few hours a day trying to keep up with all of the posts...

What kinda router do you have pink? And what exactly is XBC/other thing saying when it tries to find your xbox? Just that it can't? Let me know, I might be able to help.

You may have to do some tweaking to your router settings. You should have a settings page that you can access by just putting in your IP address in the address bar of your browser.
Then, you can set up what is called port forwarding. What is happening is your router isn't allowing proper communication. That can also happen if you try sending files via ICQ..you may be getting peer to peer errors.
XBC tells you what ports to open up and then you forward it to your ip.
You name your forward to something like XBC, then you type in the port ranges, expample: 690 - 1190, then it asks where you want anything that hits these ports to be forwarded to, and you put your IP Address there.
That way, the router will allow the XBC or other company's server to communicate with your PC. I had to do the exact same thing. It wasn't recognizing my xbox but when I opened up some ports and forwarded to my IP address it worked first try.
The only other option is to just get a networking cable and connect that from your router to the xbox. My friend has comcast and on the back of her router she has two outputs. Either USB or Cat5. She has the USB going to her PC and the cat5 going to her xbox. She didn't even have to use a crossover cable..it worked fine!!

LOL thanks realmccloy but I think you just typed that for nothin:) Yeh Ive tried alot of things...everything that your supposed to from starting from scratch on installing my router to trying different winpcaps. Still doesnt work, noone knew why, all they could say is its prolly my box messed some how. Oh well
thanks redjello- i have the dlink d614+ router, basically it just isnt finding my box. Ive had like 5 admins try to help me with it all and they all couldnt do anything for me...so I think its just hopeless! Ok, that was frustrating. I typed two responses to this post, and both times it went to "This page can't be found" page.
So, not to insult your intelligence or anything, but try www.portforward.com and click on "Routers" and find your router from the list. It will give you explicit directions on how to forward the ports on your specific router.
Have you been able to FTP to your xbox or play on xbox live before? Just to make sure that the port on your xbox actually works.
Also, maybe try switching the cables. As in, the one from pc to router with the one from xbox to router, just to make sure the cables work.
I have some other ideas if that doesn't work. Let me know.
Sorry for the slow response as well, I've been rather sick of late, and was asleep all day, and am going to sleep soon.

If so, you could always try to connect the USB connection to your PC for your PC's internet, and then use the standard port to connect a Cat5 line to your xbox.
Just to see if it then can recognize your machine.
