I'm having problems buring alot of games correctly for example:
Mortal Kombat: Deception (freeze up after intro)
Crash: Twinsanity (knows it's in the drive and freezes during load)
ESPN NBA 2K5 (runs slow & choppy)
The funny thing is they all work when I FTP into the xbox and slam the extracted games (using SimpleX ISO) folder onto f: drive and then they work fine. I don't think it has something to do with the protection because they wouldn't work at all then, right? I just want to be able to back the damn games on DVD+- r media if possible. I think it has something to do with having to many directories, folders etc. & has problems burning so many, I don't know. I'm also having many problems with the media to use with the X-box Samsung & Tomson drives. Now I heard some people say that no DVD+r media works with the Samsung DVD drive but I've had many brands work just fine. If somebody could shed some light on both questons would be much appreciated.

hi gonzo3rd,
What OS are you running mate? Windows XP 98 etc? or Mac?
I need a little more info on your setup..

Are you patching the game before burning it etc?
Normally when my games run off the HDD i have no problems burning them to DVD-R.. You need to have a NTFS file system on your computer if you want to make .ISO files over 4.00gb on a window98 machine etc..
anyway, let us know and hope that sheds some light on the subject for ya.
im sure other knowledgable members will reply too mate.
I'm running Windows XP Pro SP1, NTFS file system. I have over 200 games that work fine it's just about 25% of them that freeze or lockup. It really doesn't matter if there new or old because I've had problems with both so I don't think it's the protection. I don't think it's the media I'm using either because I reburn them again with the same results. I usally just go rent the games then rip them to the hardrive and then ftp into it using flashFXP and drag the game folders over then ISO them up using SimpleX ISO V0.3, then burn ISO image using Nero. This is really strange I downloaded Mortal Kombat: Deception Unrar'd then extacted it using simpleX ISO (to see all the files) then I ftp'd into my x-box and droped the extracted folder in f:/games directory and the game worked perfect from the hardrive in my Xbox. I tried to drag that folder back over and ISO'd it backup and reburned it to the same damn results, choppy slow play. Now I have 2 DVD burners my (older) HP DVD300i "+" writer & my Sony DRU-530A "+ -" writer with updated firmware on both so I don't think it's my burner. I have 2 X-box's as well that are modded with 120gig harddrives in each of them with a Tomson & Samsung DVD drives and they both have the same results. If there's a patch I need to do then I wil but if it's a patch that works by FTP'ing into the Xbox and dropping it in the game folder then I doubt it will work right when you try to ISO it up and burn it because I've tried that too and the game (outrun 2) don't work at all then. If anybody could shed some light it would be much appreciated,
Chris
