Ok.. I got my muppetX mod chip today and installed it just as it said. When I boot the xbox It still goes right to the MS dash. It does this on both switch settings on the chip. Did I do something wrong? Any input would be welcome

When it boots up does it look any different? If it looks the same, then the chip isn't installed right, might not be making connection or something. Also try booting a disk with unsigned code(not a xbox game). If it boots it then its in, if it doesn't then reseat the chip again. _________________

I have noticed many after market controllers dont work well until dash is loaded. Some chips only like ms controllers (while inside the chips os soft). Try a ms controller. _________________ XENIUM ICE 300GIG CUSTOM DVD

For one, yes MS controllers work better, also on my mod chip i had to use the d-pad to move up and down. _________________

$10-$15 at a store, or just barrow one from a friend, after the bios is flashed you can use a after market one. _________________

There's absolutely no way around having to get an MS controller?
I was hoping on getting this finished tonight

Try all the controllers you got, and try using all of the d-pads and the sticks. If they don't work, then u gotta get a MS controller. _________________
