Hey guys first time owning a xbox!! I want mod it now i heard there way to mod my xbox without using a mod chip? what is it called? thanks how is it done?

Welcome! They're called Softmods, and typically are used with either the original of 007: Agent Under Fire, Splinter Cell, or Mechassault. You will need to download SID (5.01 is the most recent, and from there, look into tutorials here to find what else you need, but I think SID comes with a tutorial for you, I can be wrong. HOWEVER, you will need a way to transfer the save to your xbox which means either Action Replay or something else like that.

Pretty much, you need to get a program for your computer called action replay. It means you can take gamesaves off your computer, write them onto your memory card so you can put them on your xbox. This is how you softmod. _________________

To break it down, whats meant is, when you download SID 5.01, it will contain the SID installer and the gamesave exploits. You need to get those from your PC, onto either an Xbox memory card, or action replay, or USB card etc so that you can plug it into the Xbox, and transfer over onto the Xbox HDD.
To do it, you can use a program called Action Replay, or you can FTP them onto a mem card using someone else's modded Xbox.
Once the installer and exploits are on whatever you have (mem card, USB etc) you'll be all set to go.

SID isnt an ISO its a gamesave. I think you'll understand better when you download it and look for yourself. _________________

Ok, the game save exploit that u need, its just a FAKE game save so it can be ran on an unmodded xbox.
There are 3 different games that have these "fake game saves" they are as fallows, Mech Assault, 007 AUF, and the very first Splinter Cell, all these games have ot be the originals, not the newer releases that say Platiunum Edition or what ever.
So this "Fake Games Save" just lets you run linux within the game that you own for that game save.

You need an actual copy of the game to launch the SID (softmod installer deluxe). Once you use SID to mod your box, you can play games backed up on dvd. Not all DVDrs are readable thoguh. _________________
