ok, i softmodded for my first time this past weekend on a box of my buds. everything went fine initially, but i wanted to uninstall the softmod (which worked fine) and then reinstall it with HD capabilities, thinking that you can enable it / disable it on the fly with component cables like with a chip. well after that it would only try to boot up with HD turned on, which means i could only display it on hdtv's. so then i was going to take that softmod off and redo it like i initially had done with just regular 480i resolution. well i ran into all kinds of problems, it wouldnt uninstall, it kept getting errors, and it still would only display on a hdtv. after hours of stress and frustration and errors and the mod staying on my box like a damn parasite i fell asleep. then i got up and changed my component cables to the regular composite cables....and just like that everything uninstalled, and i re-installed the mod the way i wanted it....was it coincidence or did the composite cables save the day?
ne ways, thats my first softmod experience and i have to say that the softmod is pretty cool and quick.
now my question: what is the best way to upgrade a hard drive. chimp vs. xboxhdm?
