I have an XBox that I already have FTP access to, however, it's not yet softmodded. I'm wondering if someone could help me figure out what files would need to be copied over and where to (via FTP) to allow Mech Assult to run the SID. The manual for SID only mentions what files are needed if I were to take the memory card route, but since I already have FTP access I'd rather take the FTP route instead of investing in a memory card I won't need later on.

P.S. In case you're wondering how I have a non-softmodded XBox with FTP access ... I bought a used Xbox which apparently already had a saved game for Mechassult which brought up what looked like Evolution X install ... however, I messed up on the softmod install (decided to not finish it and reboot to see if the XBox was already softmodded by the previous user ... which it wasn't). When I tried to run the Mech Assult save game again, it won't allow me to softmod the XBox anymore (tells me to reinstall the save game files ... which I don't have), however, it does allow me to FTP into the box. You would want to extract the .zip files, and follow the directory path within it.

So, it should go in E:\UDATA\4d530017. Delete the directory that is there now(don't restart!) and upload the extracted 4d530017 directory. Restart, and you should be good to go.
