Hey guys... just wondering if anyone could let me know of any good forums regarding error 21. I have been getting this error for some time. It won't boot up a disk at all. Is there any downloads that I can get that will help fix this problem. Help will be appreciated.

Error 21: Typically means you're missing .xip files on your c: drive, or you have .xip's from a different (wrong) dashboard version. To fix simply restore a complete backup of the c: drive.
You are going to have to re-install your MS Dashboard more than likely, the Xbox-Hq EvoX Auto-Installer v1.3 will take care of that...

Yes, the 1.3 installer will work for all versions...even the newer 1.4, 1.5, and 1.6's.
You either have the wrong MS Dash files, or missing files just like DJB said.
If you can't burn the installer, I uploaded the newer MS Dash files and you can just FTP them over to your C folder on your xbox.
When prompted to overwrite, say yes to all!

Sorry to be so stupid sounding but....
If I don't have a mod chip installed, can I still put back on the original software to get rid of the error 21? Where would I find the original software and do I need to burn it onto a dvd or do I need to ftp in directly to the xbox? Sorry again about the stupidity but just learning this stuff now. In order to ftp over to the xbox, how would I install ftp software on the errored xbox?

Firstly, MAKE A SINGATURE PLEASE!! We need to know what kind of xbox equipment you're running (HDD size, Modchip etc.)

I don't think you can put the software on again without a modchip, you might be able to with soft modding but I don't know anything about that.
My Xbox-Hq EvoX Auto-Installer v1.3 will rebuild you Microsoft Dashboard, you can burn it to either a CD-RW or DVD-R.
With FTP'ing to your Xbox, the EvoX Dashboard (and my auto-installer) has also turned the Xbox into a FTP Server, so all you would have to do is grab a FTP Client for your PC (FlashFXP is recommended) and copy over the files.

I have the xbox open and need to know where abouts do I find the version of the xbox? I am taking that is what you are talking about for the signature right?
Also, can the evox autoinstaller be installed without a chip. If not, what chip is recommended?

You can try to find out what version xbox you have from your serial number which is located on the OUTSIDE of the xbox..

NO, not that i know of.. We do not suggest SOFT MODS at all..
If you get a modchip really its up to you what you need.
If you play XBOX LIVE then i suggest the XENIUM
there are so many to choose from.. Xecuters are good and supported widely.. Just browse through some posts and see what our members have.. Im sure we will be able to help you no matter what modchip you purchase.
