Heya guys I have been messing around with the Xbox Media Centre and for the life of me I cant see where you upconvert videos to the HDTV resolutions.

The only resolution option in settings I see only changes it from NTSC 4 x 9 to NTSC 16 x 9. In the video setup part where you choose the outer limits of the picture I can change all the resolutions (white button) but cant get it to work when watching a movie.

Anyone got any ideas?

1. make sure you have a hd cable pack (component)

2. make sure your tv set supports higher resolution (720p, 1028i...)

3. if 1. and 2. are ok the you will be able to set a higher resolution for XBMC gui (in settings/appareance...).

4. go to settings/videos, select "upsample video to GUI resolution" and enjoy a good dvd upsampled to 1080i...

I did all of the above but movies play like there isn't enough CPU to do the upconvert. It freezes for a split second ever second or so. I've tried many DVD's Any ideas?
