Posted: Thu Jan 04, 2007 7:35 am Post subject: Problem with Auto-Installer Deluxe 3.1 install
Hi. I'm new to the world of Xbox modding. It shows, as I'm sure I made a rather noobish mistake.
I downloaded and installed the AID 3.1 softmod via Splinter Cell. I did everything according to the included .pdf file, though things got kinda confusing around the dual-boot part. Still, I think I got it right.
However, what I'm sure I screwed up was installing the dashboard. After installing PBL I installed EvoX. Then, having heard good things about it and not thinking, I installed UnleashX in E:/ as well. Patch MS Boot, turn power off.
Now, when I boot with DVD tray open, the MD dash comes up no problem, but whenever I try to boot with the DVD tray closed, which should bring up the softmod dash, nothing happens. The Xbox turns on, but the screen stays black. And when I try to load the installer through Splinter Cell again, the screen goes black.
What did I do wrong, and how do I fix it? I'm quite clueless and would like to get this fixed ASAP.

get the box modded its the easiest way

sounds like its not finding the dash files, re run the softmod install and double check ur steps

How should I go about doing that? The Splinter Cell route doesn't work anymore.
I've downloaded the .iso of Auto-Installer Deluxe. Should that just work if I burn it to a DVD due to the softmod, or is there some other route I should take?

Just boot up with aid disk. 3.1
then
format c en e
install msdash 5960
backup eeprom
backup msdash
install softmod sid4.5
choose your dashboard (to E drive)
choose single or dual boot.
or use one click install
