so I took just the bin file made a data cd in nero labed it x3bios and it even tells the lale of the cd as that but gives me no option to go futher or update the bios

if your gonna make a disc manually you need to name the bin file to bios.bin, and then make a 100mb dummy file, and when burning burn at the lowest speed. _________________

Flashing via HTTP
1. Acquire the X3 BIOS.
2. Once in FlashBIOS move the menu with the controller to the "Network Flash" menu option.
Hit A.
3. Provided you have a DCHP enabled network you should see an IP on the screen. If not,
learn you some networking.
4. Open your web browser and type in the address seen on screen.
and follow the instructions on the screen
Once the uploading has begun your TV will show the flashing and the web browser window will reflect what has happen. _________________

WTF i feel like pounding this thing it has to bee somthing with the eeprom because it flahed the bios restarted and I am getting the same exact effect the only time I can get a picture on the screen is buy going to that bios update but why did the drive work in my box when I swapped it and now it wont work in this one if this is the one I did the work on.I am so conffused

well its 2:48 am here i am going to catch some ZzZz I will not give up I hope I can bring mine back I never expected this. Thanks so much for your time and any more information gathered would be great we know it is not the bios now. Also let me know man you guys take donatinos have a paypal account or somthing I really am greatful I hope I learn somthing out of this. I still have access to another modded box and I am going to have to soft mod more this way I dont want to do this again because I am still not sure if it is reversable. I would think it has to be some how what else is left besides the bios or eeprom and yet how can I restor the eeprom without booting it up the farthiest I can get is that flashbios scree. Anyway THNAX SO MUCH!! I will be around here

Well I posted it previously after doing my bios update it made no change. its funny because with the x3 chip to book up enabled you have to press the power button for less then a second the led goes blue and it boots with the modchip on. If you held it for more than a second the led would go red and it would boot without the mod chip enebled. Now noo matter how l power it the light goes red first then blue the led around my eject button blinks a few times then goes green and I ge nopicure at all ): the only time I get a picture i when i hold down theeject when I power for the bios back up

sure like 5 80 gigs 2 120 gigis 3 250 gigs why you need one (: I got all those for under 200.00 if I remember and all but the 80 gigs were in box. Anyway no matter what hard drive I put in there the result is the same even if i unplug the hd it seems to boot the same anyway. Even if I put the hd that is now in the soft modded xbox that I used config magic to load the eeprom and lock the hdd I belive causeing this problem but after I know I ran the softmod again to make it so it would boot evox insteed of msdash I thought of removeing the softmod and seeing if it would work back in my box with the x3 in it but dont want to screw up that one now. If it was the eeprom shouldn't I still get somthing on the screen?

You prevoiusly stated that none of the buttons were pushed on the (I assume you have the X3CP) they should be Protect Off 1=on 2=on 3=off 4=off. If no banks are selected you are flashing the 2MB Bank on your bios.
Yes I gathered that from reading among the site. The first stime I flashed it I did flash it with all the dips off. I have the box completly apart now and I also noticed there is a protect switch on my switch. the is of and the light is red I noticed if it is on and blue it also will not flash. Anyway I made sure that was off and flashed it with dips 1,2 on 3,4 off and still the same exact problem. Is it time to pull my chip and screen off this box? I hope not

I would test it without the chip to see if it will work, not totally remove anything yet, providing you still have the original harddrive. _________________
I dont have the original drive that came with that xbox I think I threw it out yrs ago. I have the drive that I locked while in it with the soft mod eeprom loaded. It is still in the softmodded box haveing games loaded. but like I said when I put it back in the softmodded xbox it had a fesh install of ms dash and I used mechassult to run the soft mod so it would boot evox. It will not even make it boot is there a way to access the eeprom?
