Here is the scoop I havbe been racking my brain for days now trying many differant approches none of them ending in what I want. No matter how I do this the softmodded box will not boot with any hd but the original. I am offering to even donate 50.00 to who ever can help me. Why do you ask becayse I need this information asap and it will save me more in the long run. I have a modded box with an x3 xhip and and I am trying to mod a few boxes without buying chips and installing them. No bull here guys your time will be much appritated and I will reward your efforts I am desperate been going at this for 2 days and am out of time. ok so listen I got thethin to work with config magic and my modded xbox with an x3 chip in it. I first put the newdrive in my modded box installed the msdash board used mech assult to softmod the drive and installed config magic. then I transfered my backupo of my eeprom and loaded it to the hd. I then open config magic and did the followiong steps
1. Load the EEPROM.BIN file in the DATA directory by choosing "LOAD EEPROM FROM .BIN FILE"
2. Now, select "UPDATE XBOX EEPROM" in the menu.
3. Your Xbox's EEPROM will now be updated with the file in the DATA directory.
4. Select "LOCK HD" from the menu.
5. Select "EXIT CONFIGMAGIC" in the menu.
Afterwords the 250gig drive works in my softmodded box but now I tried hooking back up my 320gig that was in my modded xbox and it wont booti GET NO SCREEN AT ALL and the button goes red then blue when if I hit the power for only a second it always went straigt blue and booted fine. Now I am very worried not even the hd that I softmodded will work in the box please help if you can my offer still stands. I have to run to walmart for 30 min brb thanx so much

oh boy, sounds like you just made a whole new problem, sounds like you changed your xbox's eeprom, do you have a backup or your xbox's eeprom previous to you using config magic? _________________

I belive I do yes on the hd that I cant boot with but I could boot it up in anopther modded xbox and get it I am sure but how would I go about fixing it I am not sure if I ever copyed it to my pc I did for everyone I was trying to soft mod but should it not matter with the modchip it should boot any hd should it not? also is there not a backup on the x3 chip I do remeber when I could get int that x3 xhip setup I backed it up? I will be here until I figure it out thanx so much

did you lock your 320 gig harddrive? There is away of unlocking it if you did, but you will loose all your stuff on the harddrive. _________________

no I dont believe I ever locked that and this is exactly how I did it. I put the 250 in my modded box and I installed evox on it and config magic. I took the backup and put it in my data dir and opened config magic. update your chipped xbox eeprom from the bin file. (eeprom backup from softmodded xbox).
Reboot the xbox and open config magic and lock the hardrive. (now it's locked with the eeprom from the softmodded xbox)
Turn off xbox and remove the big hd out the chipped xbox.
Put it in the softmodded xbox
Now the Hd will work in the softmodded xbox.
I did not reboot my xbox before locking the hd though I dont think that is what made the differance. But when I was dopnt it worked and it booted the msdash just as ifg it were the stock 8 gig then all I did was put in mechassult and used the backdoor and softmodded it while in the box that I had softmodded. After so it boots up evox like it should and I can start loading the srive up but now I get no screen at all on my modded box. without not even being able to boot up get anything on the screen at all I am totaly lost and am scared I ruined this box. I may have but cant remeber for sure if after I installed the msdash when it was in my modded box I ren mechassult and installed the softmod before even installing config magic and locking it. could that have messed up my hard mod? ok I assume you meen the white button on the controler still I get no picture the thing boots with the red light flaskes a few times then goes blue and never puts out any kind of a video signal I get just a blue screen which is what my tv proiduces when it has no signal. Even iif I have the dvd rom or hd unplugged the same thing happens and I get no error message or anything

not sure what you meen I have a 1.6 with a x3 chip installed and the lcd front screen you can add to the x3 purly just for looks. The blue led I speek of is when you used to right until this happened you had to just tap the power button for the box to boot and the x3 be active and the circle around the eject button would be blue. If you held it for any longer than a sec it would but without the mod chip and the circle around the eject button would be red. Now no matter is i tap it hold it or what it comes opn red blinks a few times goes blue and just stayed on never produces a screen or anything. You think I can bring this thing back? I also can probably get my buddys modded box put my 320gig in it and I am sure it will boot in his that way I know I have an image of my eeprom but i thought that was the point of a modchip it it will boot any hd no matter what the eeprom image I thought. But even if I get that image and that is what it is how would I fix it if I cant boot or even ftp or does it sound like maybe the problem is deeper that that?

well it could be a corrupted bios by the sounds if your getting no video, check and make sure everything is seated properly, and check to see if all the connections are snug and wiggle around your video cable.
This way we can see if it is the bios or just something that came loose. _________________

yep I had already done that because I though it was possible. Everythin seems snug so maybe that is it but at no time did any of what I do change the bios does it? O does any of that change upon my trying to do the softmod while it was in my modded box through mech assult. Anyhow I have not flashed a chip in years I was just getting back into useing this thing and just learned of this soft mod. How can I put a new bios up if I cant even boot?

nope they are all the way they should be sii I had the whole front replaced has the screen and it has the dip switches right upfront the are push button. and none of them are pushed in at all not the protect one or any of the 4 dips
