And I am planning on buying a new HD off of Newegg.com. But I want to buy
everything in the same place without having to go to both sites.
So does anyone know which ATA Cable will give me good performance and will work just like the 1 off of llama. And is compatible with my xbox from newegg?

Most new HDDs come with the cable if you feel you need a new one. But I used my OE XBOX ATA cable with new HDDs and only changed to a new one when one of the plugs came detached from the cable.

I didn't look on Newegg but if you want get the best load times from your new HDD (or any HDD) make sure you get the ATA133 cable. It really does make a significant difference. I picked a 24" (same as OE Xbox) ata133 up from a local computer shop for $9.

sorry to burst your bubble, but that is a pointless upgrade, it goes no more than ATA 33 there is no noticable increase in loading time or speed. _________________

You sure? All the reviews on llama are people saying they notice an increase. Maybe they are tricked into thinking that. I dont know.
Thanks for the info though!

It really is a pointless upgrade. it speeds up hdd load time by about 0.005 seconds and i mean thats the amount of time it takes to press a key on the keyboard if your a fast typer. _________________

xbox ide bus will only run at 33,
but the design of the 80 pin cable places alternate earths in the ribbon thus significantly removing interference.
i did the upgrade years ago and it did make a marginal difference.
if you want to do the upgrade for the cost of a cable i would change it.
if you want to know how go here.:-

Like I said from the get go use the one already in your xbox as you can see the difference, if there really is any, is very slight if at all, you'd be done with this already if you had taken my advice.

remember that IDE cables work like ethernet patch cables, as soon as you start bending them the signal degrades

dude quit ur killing me We all know the bus speed is primarily governed buy the IDE controller. Take into account the bends you put into the cable and the signal would degrade. It is possible that the cable he was using was knackered anyway and fitting a new cable just brought the performance back to what it should be

I upgraded mine and saw no noticeable difference. You are more likely to notice a difference with a faster HDD.
BTW nice sig Robbieboy.
