Here's are the phases I want to through with this new installer:
- Design Phase - Graphics should be started immediately, including MediaXMenu Skin, CD/DVD Cover, and CD Label, the more time the better with this one. I see this as a potential problem to reach completion so the sooner we can sniff around and find a GOOD artist the better.
- Research Phase - Find out when new versions of apps are available, and if possible try and aquire pre-releases. Maybe even get the programmers to include some minor tweaks to a specific xbox-hq version, hehehe)
- CD Structure Phase - This is basically been done, since I've been planning this for a while. Forahobby can also confirm this but I have been documenting all this work.
- Documentation Phase - I am hoping that someone with good writing skills would like to take in this responsibilty. It's just that around the end of this year I'll be doing all my final exams and won't have enough time to put as much concentration into this as I would like.
- Completion Phase - The auto-installer is all put together with the skin, and the scripting for the installer. Two main issues with this are the release of the new MediaXMenu, and the amount of time we have to work with an artist.
- Testing Phase - Myself, Forahobby, RealMcCloy, and any other VIP Members will give it a thorough test. Like Forahobby said, we are interested in knowledgeable VIP Members to step forward and take part in this, by testing the installer and proof-reading the documentation.
- Uploading Phase - The Auto-Installer gets uploaded to FTP's, and seeded by willing Bit Torrent users.
- Release Phase PART 1: - Auto-Installer 2.0 is released exclusively to Xbox-Hq members.
- Release Phase PART 2: - News is submitted to Xbins and other sites.
- Sit back and watch us kick ass Phase (hehehe): - This is where we sit back, feel good about all the work we've done, get shit-faced (well I dunno about the rest of the participants but I think I'll definately wanna do this after all the work, hehehe) and help out.
Ideas included so far:
- EVERYTHING that XBHQAI v1.3 does, v2.0 will do also (I'm not gonna list it all again, hehe)
- Multi-Dashboard support (MXM, XBMC, UnleashX etc.) Suggestions for dashboards will be taken.
- Emulators will be added to the installer, so instaed of having 2 installers there will be one big installer.
- Professional-standard (or atleast very-well written) documentation
- Cover Art (CD cover / label, and DVD Cover)
- Wider Distribution
Oh well, at the end of all of this I guess we'll see how with it I guess. I'm being very optimistic about this and I belive it can be done.
