Hey all, need to pick some brains here from our Xenium Ice installers. This is a first for me. I intalled a Xenium ice (pinheader) into a 1.6 machine. As soon as I turn it on, the Xenium Ice LED turns green, but I get an immediate frag. What is funny is, typically if I have a solder issue I get a red LED and the power on and off cycle three times, then the frag. This just frags right from the get go.
Not too mention, the LED is not red..it's green.

u can not just use a pin header with xenium ice on 1.6 xbox ,
there is a whole bunch of wires you have to solder to get it to work on 1.6 ,

if you did all the and still are having problems then i dont really know what to tell you , make sure u use bios for 1.6 box which is evox m8_16

one other thing i just thought of ,
the 1.6 boxes have a thick layer of some clear shit covering up all the points you need to solder to , so make sure u clean it off with GASOLINE or something that will melt that shit in an instant before you solder ,

I've done about thirty 1.6's...
I know about the LPC rebuild..and the thick coats of lacquer..
my problem was rather embarrassing..
I didn't realize this chip came with the newest OS...and, I was powering up by hitting the power button...not the eject button.
If I power up with the eject button I'm all good..

There's no bios on the chip yet...it was fragging right after install.
BTW ppl..for those still booting up their Xenium Ice's with the 2.0 OS, here's a look at the newest OS...
